I never finished watching "The Golden Compass", I couldn't watch further than those awful child actors, (the girl playing Lyra was okay but certainly not good enough to carry the film.) It's just that every sentance that came out of their mouths was "I am reading my lines." It was just Hell to watch. I didn't think it would improve from there and judging from what others have said I was right. I kind of hope they just chalk it up as a failure and don't bother with The Subtle Knife or The Amber Spyglass.
