Ever since one of the earliest Meet the Team videos, i've wanted Valve to make a video featuring several characters, all with voiced parts and interracting with each other. I thought it would be all sorts of awesome, just seeing the characters, in character, facing some sort of situation together.
And Meet the Spy did exactly that

Fucking awesome video? are there more like that?

I'm not going to call you a name, but I'm sure as hell going to point in the stupidity in a games company fulfilling the service and obligation that you paid them for. Valve aren't doing you 14 year old any favours you know - Business #101 - if they want to keep paying customers and want to keep their game popular and notching up fresh sales, they need to constantly redevelop and upgrade. They don't need a pat on the back when they're already doing it solely for the cold, hard cash.
libertarian benefit collector - anti-academic super-intellectual. http://mixlr.com/the-little-phrase/
Said it before and I'll say it again. Valve are only second to blizzard on the "blind worship fanbase" list.
I'm well aware of this. I'm well aware that they continue to pump out mostly frivolous content (I rarely use the unlocks, and don't like the direction most of them take. The new maps I do enjoy though) just to keep people playing, and to generate more sales. They've discovered a great business model where they get extra sales on an old product with relatively minimal effort. It's great for them, and it's also great for us.Uzique wrote:

It's the degree of care and obvious love for the world they've created that i'm thankful for. All these update pages are filled to the brim with funny writing and in-jokes. Stuff like the Spy Update reveal (with the decloaking Spy appearing occasionally the day before) was done really well, and was certainly not necessary at all, but made it that much more fun for the existing fans. Meet the Spy was a pretty amazing short. And last but certainly not least they actively acknowledge the community in amusing ways too.
So yes for that I thank them and don't care what it looks like. Usually when I see thank you threads on the Steam forums i roll my eyes a little, for exactly the reasons you said, but this time they've really outdone themselves and they deserve a little credit.
Edit: Also:

Blind worship? I enjoy their games. Have bought a few and will probably buy more in future.Fat_Swinub wrote:

That and it's nice to see a game development studio make it big without losing the thing that made them who they were originally.

Not talking about you specifically here. Just saying there's a large mass of people who think valve can do no wrong and take offence at any criticism that company receives.

It's supposed to be 21:00 GMT but is usually quite a bit later.SplinterStrike wrote:

Waiting for Valve to update the TF blog is a terrible idea. It brings nothing but stress as you hammer F5 while Valve take four-five hours/days longer than planned to release an image.
It's not like they make this stuff on the day it's released, so what the hell takes them so long?

I wonder what takes them all these hours as well.
How is that different from any fanboyism anywhere?Fat_Swinub wrote:
