I just build a new computer and decided to go with Vista 64-bit.
I've been trying to avoid it, but recently I've heard good reviews.

I just want some of the basic configs, add-ons, etc. that make Vista a little more noob friendly.

Turn off search indexer, it rapes a lot of resources and is relatively useless.

install Service Pack 2, asap, if your disk doesn't already have it. Vista's getting better, a SP at a time . . .
