I would be much happier if the word 'appeasement' was excised from the dictionary.

Can you believe the furore over an Australian bank offering "interest free" home loans as with Sharia?

Except the banks have simply worked out a way to claim interest through raising the price of the loan and investing the extra payments so it evens out for them.

Plus the special loans are available to anyway stupid enough to believe in the scheme.

imo it's just as ridiculous as devout Jews using a special pen they hold in their mouth so they don't have to dial phone numbers on the Sabbath.

If you are cunning in circumventing the holy laws, maybe God will just pretend it never happened. lol

Well you can call it kissing ass, or favortism for kickbacks if you would like, but I think appeasement  sounds nicer.

Nope, people committing violence because they were depicted as violent is news worthy. and pretty damned hilariously ironic, if not down right idiotic.
This may surprise you lowing but if you were to publish those cartoons in this country you would technically be liable to be punished in accordance with the law... and before you start yelling "appeasement" from your ivory tower let me point out that this blasphemy law is a hangover from the days of the Catholic church's overarching influence on the State - stick that in your Christianity and smoke it!

Religion, when it loses the run of itself, sucks... not just Islam, your precious Christianity can be a crock of shit too.

"Technically", cartoons have been drawn mocking Jesus and Christianity and no such rioting or uproar or violence has occurred and no one has gone to jail for it either.

I will also point out, I don't live in an "ivory tower", I am a middle class citizen with bills to pay and everything. Unless you are saying I live in an ivory tower because I actually own up to my responsibilities and deal with them without burdening or saddling everyone else with them like a good liberal. If that is the case then yes, I live in an ivory tower.

Not sure how many times I have said but I will say it again. I don't give a shit about other religions. When other religions start trying to impose unwanted and backwards beliefs through violence or litigation on my society then I will care. Until then, as always, you are free to think or do what you want.
