Build your own Cam, you can do it! It's decent, but as all pre build rigs are, a bit overpriced.

Is 1200 euros what you want to spend? I can spec you something a lot better from an online shop.

Well I already have a monitor. I don't have any concept of sound cards. What is your suggestion on graphics cards?

Custom but still pre-built. Buying the individual parts and putting them together yourself will save you quite a bit of money.

I'd probably spend up to €1500. Difficult to find too many retailers that allow custom build in the Republic. Republic of Ireland is generally dearer than the rest of Europe too.

My suggestion would be to buy all the parts and assemble them yourself. You're a smart kid, I'm sure you've used Lego, it's the same concept.

Buy the components separately from something like OCUK etc. It's easy as hell to put together, it's just a bit like expensive lego.

repost this in the tech section, get DU, Max et al to give it a workover. for a e1500 budget you'll probably get a monster.

Both Free programs, no point in even including them. Do either of them change the price?
Nope. They're default.

Add a 200 series Nvidia card and you're in business.  Love my GTX260.  For less than $200 on Newegg I have the superclocked edition.  Highly recommend.

What kind of HD is it?

You might be overpaying for one that is big but slow.

Are there software compatibility issues if I go 64 bit? What are the benefits?

Seagate was having problems with their higher capacity hard drives IIRC. Look for a Samsung or Western Digital.

Edit: Your system won't recognize all 6GB of RAM if you don't get 64 bit.

^You'll kick ass with that machine, except isn't a 275 better than the 285?

Possibility of software issues is minimal but benefits are huge. If you had 32bit, half of the ram would be useless. Thats why 64bit is the only way to go.

Also I would change that cooler and HDD. To Noctua and Samsung / WesternDigital Caviar Black

285 is better than 275

EDIT: Oh and don't forget a case Cam. And PSU too.

Sweet i7 setup, Cam.  285 will be sahweeeeeet.  Just going from my 256mb 7800GT to my 896mb gtx260 everything runs soooo smooth, effects are there that my other card didn't render, edges are smoooth, and lighting improves too.  And the 285 is even better!  You will be amazed.

Oh, but if you can get an EVGA brand card, they have a nice overclocking tool.
