This past weekend, I was playing Wake Island and driving around in a tank.
Somebody on the other side was flying their chopper a little too close and a little too slow off to my right. I aimed a bit high and a bit ahead and took him down in one shot. Can't really believe that I hit them in one shot as it's usually pretty tough to judge where they're going to be flying next. Felt very satisfying as shots like that don't come along that often.

one time i shot a jet down and it crashed into another jet mid air and I got two jet kills

SOFLAM doesn't make Jets useless. Just use ECM Jammer. ECM Jammer isn't useless, as long as you time it right it gets you out of most situations. Also the reload time wasn't nerfed like it was for Flares.
