Anyone else here going? I know we have people from Austria and neighboring countries here ... anyone else going to the Rammstein concert in Vienna in November?

I just got my ticket. Costs €66.40. One of the last few standing tickets that they had and had to buy it directly from the box office (all the other distributors sold out in less than 20 minutes, it turns out). YEA!!!!

Let me get this out of my system now.

FUCK.

YOU.

Whew. There we go. Btw, if this site is still around in November, and we are both still on it, I will be demanding pics. Wonder if they will have the new album out by then...

That sounds interesting. I was planning on going to Vienna this summer but I might hold off for this.

What he said.

Saw them a few years back at Big Day Out but was only a 40 min set and that would be no comparision to one of their proper stage shows with the segway's, pyrotechnics and flame throwers.

Consider me well jealous.

Their arena gig was great. The keyboard dude had some fun too. At one point a handful of roadies were running to the stage with this huge rubber boat and everybody was wtf?! The keyboard guy took some distance and ran to the boat and jumped in. The roadies then tossed him on the crowd and he was sailing all over the place with ppl moving him around

Doc doesn't do the boat thing anymore. The Bassist does it sometimes now but that Lorenz dude got hurt doing it.

There's an epic vid of youtube from when some guy climbed into the boat with the Bassist. He tried to dive off again before it got back to the stage but security grabbed him and the lead singer dragged him up on stage with them.

I don't think I'll ever see them live but the DVDs are a good watch.

They never pissed on each other... The show where the singer is wearing that dildo got them arrested in the USA though so I don't think they do that anymore.

The lyrics aren't important. It's the music that kicks ass. I understand all the songs, especially since I've learned German once I moved here to Vienna. The live shows are awesome. I've waited like 7 years to finally see Rammstein live and I cannot fucking wait. Those of you that have been: How early do you think I should show up so that way I can make a rush to the very front? I was thinking like 2 hours, but I am not sure. Concert dudes, help me out here.

I'll try to remember to bring my camera with me and will definitely post the pics when after I recover from the concert. Should be a good night, just wish I didn't have to wait until November 21st.

Well i was the very first person to line up for Metallica when they came here on Dec 4, i came at 2 and the doors opened at 6.  I paid 300 bucks for that floor ticket, there was no fucking way id mess this one up.  I got on the barrier, kept it the entire show, i even got Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's pick, the only one thrown out into the crowd.  Of course, this is crazy deutschland were talking about and not the nashville of the north, id camp out the day before lol

I have never been at Vienna's Stadthalle, so I can't say how many people will fit in there and how many die-hard fans are going to queue up in advance.
AFAIK, it's rather large venue with tight security where other big, out-of-touch acts would play.
(Which is sad actually, because once a band has reached a certain popularity and demand, they get only booked in large venues where the contact to the audience is lost totally.)

I don't like Rammstein though.
Their lyrics are too cheap and too macho for my taste and their industrial-style music is definitely worse than other artists in the genre.
Their lyrics are probably fun to translate to newbies in German, with their simple sentence construction, grammar and vocabulary.

I reckon that their full stage show with all their fire would be fun to watch though.
What I heard is that in their early days they didn't have any qualification or license for handling those fire acts, and even burnt some of the audience' hair.
Not worth to pay over €60.- for a pyrotechnic show though.

I absolutely love the music. Most native German-speaking folks don't seem to go for it, though, it seems. The shows are awesome.

You're right about their early days. Then they had a huge accident one time and then they decided to start hiring professionals for the shows. There was one time where the audience wasn't really going crazy or anything when they first started, so they lit the floor on fire near the audience. They started moving then. Or so the story goes, anyway.
