I need ports to be opened for a completely legal program.

I had a dynamic ip address, which I changed into a static one in the control panel --> network connections. blah, blah, blah.
So Now I have a static adress.

I opened the port 15000 on my router/modem to both TCP and UDP that goes to my computers ip

My windows firewall grants access to the program.

It still says my port is not reaching out on both TCP and UDP, I'm stumped since I allowed everything for it to work yet it doesnt work..
I need this port opened to get better download speeds. any help?

I have Avast also installed, I tried disabling all the services, and still nothing.

Disable ports on modem...
oh snap, reading fail

After that, call your ISP, and ask if they block it....

you forwarded ports on both your router and modem?  or is it a combo?  or do you just not know what device it is?

state the program and model number for the router/modem, and make sure that you have a static IP.  that includes subnet mask, default gateway, DNS server, the works.  better yet, post a screenshot.

high ports recommended by utorrent (i think in the 60000 range) are almost never blocked by ISPs.  they only block the common ones like 21 for FTP (which is not blocked by my ISP, btw ).

I've changed it in the control panel from "get ip automatically"  to "use the following ip" or whatever it is in english

edit:  Ive tried 48836 or something like that, then 15000.  both dont work, ill try 60000+ and see if that works.
edit2: tried 65321, doesn't work.

i meant a screenshot of the properties of that marvell yukon device.  are you sure that's the one you're using to connect to the internet?  you may have enabled it on a hamachi-like lan device or something.  and again, what program are you trying to use?

I'm trying to use utorrent.

And there is like 6 tabs for the marvell yukon, which one do you want?
And yes is it that one that I use to connect to the net. If i disable it and try to open a page, I get a page cannot be found.

the IP properties page.  the one with "obtain...automatically" or "use the following."

seems fine to me.  i really don't know why that doesn't work.

edit: hmm, i have one idea.  make sure windows firewall allows access to the ports along with the program.  also try enabling UPnP on the router/modem if that's possible.

That's the problem, it seems fine to me too. Except the fact that it doesn't work, and that I'm getting an average of 25kB/s.
And when I test my ports, it doesn't work..

That's the site I used to open my ports.
If i look in the list the port is there for both TCP and UDP.

Anyways, I was able to finish my download today. thank god.

A good guide

If you've followed that guide and it still won't work, well, it's kinda on-and-off for me as well.
