well, politically it made sense and i could see that.  i mean, it was two or more groups shooting at each other, not us (in theory).  but, walking into a crossfire you can assume you will receive fire right?  i dont get it i guess.

I assume command told you you couldn't load unless you're under fire, but how far up the chain of command did it go that you were told to ignore it? Or everyone just loaded up anyway and command ignored it?

well we loaded when we got on the choppas.  i mean, what are you going to do?  court martial an entire MEU?  nah...it was just to say "well i told them not to load their weapons" in case something bad happened.

What's so bad about that? It's better than having a bunch of gangbangers who have nothing to do loitering in public areas being a nuisance. Frankly it'd probably instill a bit of discipline and respect into people.
