everythings bigger in texas
I saved a guy choking at an El Torito once. Didn't even get my meal paid for. Now I know what a serviceman feels like when no one thanks them for their service.
Rest In Piss, Henry Kissinger.
that was mentioned to me by a boomer who seemed excited to relay the news. i don't think i managed to output a very emotional response beyond a monotone 'hmm' as i was processing it (unintentionally, perhaps the greatest tribute i could have done). i think a lot of people's reactions, if they even heard of the man, were "he was still alive?"
quick search yielded these: huffpo wasted no time in calling him a "america's most notorious war criminal." fox scrambled onto its high horse to grouse about disrespectful rolling stone calling him a war criminal ("they should be ashamed!").

The pity quote was in reference to the Iran Iraq War

Bastard took Shane MacGowan with him too, who, to be honest, I was also kinda surprised was still alive.
Kissinger was a corrupt and vicious piece of shit with a very high opinion of himself.
Fuck Israel
brooklyn 99 guy, of "brief illness."
thought it meant homicide as cause of death at first, but that was just the name of another show in the headline.

Matthew Perry died taking ketamine. He was on ketamine treatment therapy but the high doses in his system at the time meant he was doing it recreationally too.
I genuinely think ketamine therapy, MDMA therapy, LSD therapy, etc. are all just scams/excuses to do drugs.

i think some stuff is getting lost here, hidden beneath the flavor of the month bogeyman.
his wiki page has a whole section dedicated to his drug (including alcohol) addictions.1

all that and he still made it to his 50s."55 vicodin pills per day"
"by age 14, he became an alcoholic"
"alcohol-induced pancreatitis"
"spent five months in a hospital for a gastrointestinal perforation. During the hospital stay, Perry nearly died after his colon burst from opioid abuse. He spent two weeks in a coma and used a colostomy bag for nine months"
"faked pain to get a prescription for 1,800 milligrams of Oxycontin per day and was having daily ketamine infusions. He was given propofol in conjunction with a surgery, which stopped his heart for five minutes"
"14 stomach surgeries, 15 stays in rehab, and therapy twice a week for 30 years"
"6,000 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings"
On December 15, 2023, Perry's death was revealed to have occurred due to "acute effects of ketamine". Other circumstances that contributed to his death included the effects of buprenorphine, drowning, and coronary artery disease.

1side note, it's still weird that people say "drugs and alcohol." why not "drugs and cocaine."Perry had been receiving Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy sessions to treat anxiety at the time of his death and had his last known session the week prior to his death, although the report stated “the ketamine in his system at death could not be from that infusion therapy since ketamine’s half-life is 3 to 4 hours, or less.”
No doubt he died doing exactly what he loved at a good age. The dude fucked and did drugs in a way that I can only aspire to. I want to be Jerry Seinfeld.

This dude was literally a friend.

The guy died in a hot tub from a drug overdose in his late 50s. I live in a studio apartment above a dentist office.

He won the game. Nothing good ever comes from being in your 60s.

That's one way to put it. Another is that he was caught in chemical dependency and impulses beyond his ability to overcome even with therapy. All the surgeries, the coma, nine months with a colostomy bag doesn't sound fun. Nor does sitting in on six-thousand AA meetings. Re: lying about pain - if the man told me he was in pain, I'd be inclined to take him at his word.
A consequence of taking an addictive pain medication, you may become addicted. Vicodin should be about 6-12 a day, max. Depending. Wiki says he was on 55 at one point. Reading again, I have to question that. You'd think overdose would occur at well under half that. It doesn't take much hydrocodone, right? And wiki says he was eating them like a kid would a bag of Smarties. wtf?

Don't trust Helicopters

Not 50 year old helicopters.
Fuck Israel
Hate flying in planes, no desire to go up in a helicopter
A 6k drop in altitude would be less than ideal as well. Always buckle in when you're flying!

I hate flying, and driving.
I did have a brief flight in a helicopter, somewhat fun.

In a different timeline: Back and to the left. Back and to the left.

The CEO that got smoked is December's hottest meme.

I'm hoping his life insurance has a terrorism get-out clause and his family gets nothing.

rare to see an assassination in the street by a lone gunman thesedays. almost quaint. it's giving Olof Palme. is the smiths' 'meat is murder' charting again?
i thought the professional assassination and big business/intelligence services had all switched over to teams of surgeons wielding barbituates and hacksaws.

The fact that the guy killed him in the middle of Manhattan and is on the loose still is amazing. They are going to make a movie out of this guy.
Or course this won't solve the healthcare yadda yadda but it certainly is something new on TV.

Didn't trump say he could shoot someone in the middle of 5th ave and get away with it? Why is nobody questioning him
So many spicy memes.
I'm guessing many CEOs are checking they have pre-approval for treatment for assassination attempts in their medical policy.

For someone who claims to have his finger on the buzzfeed you're so woefully out of touch you completely missed the cyber-punk aesthetic.uziq wrote:

Hipster hoodie and backpack
Last meal in Starbucks
Made sure the event was caught on CCTV and from exactly the right angle
Ditched a burner phone
Made off on an e-bike rented thru an app
Last known location a bus station
If the gun was 3D printed that would seal it.
Anyway
I'm guessing Gen X is the one which is really finding out their lifetime of medical insurance contributions is worthless, the money didn't go into investments it went into healthcare for boomers and buying yachts for schlubs.
We're going to see a lot more of the 90s being resurrected.

where on earth did i say anything about his aesthetic? i'm talking about the method of assassination using a silenced pistol and shooting someone in the street of a downtown area.Dilbert_X wrote:

i'm familiar with how people dress and comport themselves in cities, dilbert. i've lived in quite a few, ones particularly high on the 'cyberpunk' index, to boot. don't you live in the geriatric suburbs of a b-tier town with your parents? when's the last time you rented an e-bike through an app? you drip.
this guy is already in the pop-culture pantheon with shinzo abe's assassin as a folk hero.If the gun was 3D printed that would seal it
no idea what 'finger on the buzzfeed' is meant to mean, either. buzzfeed the listicle site was last relevant around about 2008, dilbert.
