Shit is so cash. I imported my level 41 vanguard

Will play more and report back

Edit: So far the game is good, they seemed to have streamlined things a bit. Ammo is limited, which makes abilities and powers more useful. Your teams powers are also more important so you have to give orders. Things which transfer from the first game are storyline choices, so no bonuses to levels or abilities. You even get to change appearance and pick a new class if you want. Having an old file will also get you some nice starting cash and materials, as well as starting at level 2 with some of your old paragon/renegade stats.

The constant achivement spam in the bottom right is really annoying, need to find a way to turn it off. So far the stats and upgrades screen is also really bare...hopefully that expands later because right now I only have like 6 skills to put points into.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
funniest scene so far has got to be joker's ''whoops that was supposed to go to my earpierce'' moment... really wasn't expecting that in a game like this lol

You can now start preloading Mass Effect 2 if you bought it on steam.

Out of curiosity, did they explain in any way why there is limited ammo now?

Ammo is technically unlimited. But they use thermal clips to cool the guns and the clips only last a certain number of shots before being ejected lol

@ floppy: it got leaked on the net

I don't want no spoilers (waiting for my preorder) but honestly,, anything cinematic from Mass Effect 1 was epic and above the level of most american movies

There will be plenty of DLC @ the Cerberus Network in the future and there's also launch day DLC.
I wouldn't worry too much..

Right I'm quite a bit into the game now and while it is fun there are loads of things which have gotten worse from ME1. It's quite bizarre why they would improve so many parts of the game only to screw up some of the best features from the first.

1. It's less RPG and more third person shooter. They scrapped the weapons/armour/ammo/weapon upgrade system from the first game. Now you get 1 pistol, which can be swapped out for 1 heavy pistol. You can buy blanket +10% damage upgrade to it every now and then. Same thing for all weapons.
2. No inventory or loot- no weapons to pick from means nothing to carry around. Dead bodies carry nothing but cash, and occasionally blueprints to research more generic upgrades. You don't even get EXP for killing enemies as far as i can tell.
3. While at the beginning I thought powers were good it's quickly becoming apparent that the best tactic is still to sit behind a wall and shoot Gears of War style.
4. That skill tree doesn't seem like it's going to expand. Every character has like 4-5 skills. The main character barely has more.
5. That stupid mission complete screen at the end of every mission.

I should have explained a bit.

Inferno Suit is pre-order bonus from Amazon:

Pre-order Mass Effect 2 with us at Amazon.co.uk and you'll receive codes to unlock the Inferno Suit of armour in-game. Used by officers to monitor battlefield conditions the suit is able to recognize elevated heart rates and pupil movement in people close by, almost acting like a lie detector. This same array also monitors the officer and regulates sub-systems with extreme efficiency to allow for greater response times.

Terminus Armor is from play.com, also pre-order bonus:

Like all modern combat hard-suits, Terminus Assault Armour is environmentally sealed with an independent air supply for use in space and extreme planetary conditions, with an onboard "micro-frame" computer capable of running a suite of battle management software. To prevent detection by passive thermal sensors, body heat is channeled to the base of the feet, where it can be dispersed into the ground. The Terminus Assault Armour increases storm speed +10%. all weapons have +1 magazines of reserve ammo and increases shields +15%.

I can´t decide, the price is almost the same for the both of them.

Thats...really dissapointing. I was pretty excited about this game, now that I have finally played ME1.
