Prob have to reinstall. But you can keep your stats if you know your password.

Download an .iso of BF2 and burn to disk. With you valid key you can play, reinstall, whatever.

As jamiet said you do not need to reinstall the game in fact BF2 has its own cd key changer so you just change your key and you're done.
