Plus I think the RIAA is also pissed off at the internet not only for file sharing, but because it's easier for artists to release their own material and not have to take part in their bullshit. So many artists out there don't give a shit about money and are flattered to find out people just want to listen to their music using whatever means necessary.
Record Companies/RIAA are the Newspaper companies of the music world, their format and methods are a thing of the past.
No I am not some pro Piracy "fuck the Record Companies" Person, although I do think they have been acting like major dicks for a long time, Simple truth is is that they need to find a new business model to remain viable and relevant.
Once (if ever) the physical media of music fades out, there will be no need to manufacture CDs etc, and alot of money can be redistributed to marketing.
Also, the Music Execs need to reaquire an actual appreciation for music. They are spreading their shrinking budgets around to find the most profitable garbage, only to sink their own ship with a shitload of piss poor bands for every one decent one. Hell, My own asshole has it's own record contract.
Anyone that can pick up a guitar or microphone and not break it in the process gets a record contract. THAT is the real problem. No one wants to buy 75 albums at 18$ apiece for the one good song on each album. THAT is a waste of an investment for the consumer, and the company to produce mediocre albums. Focus more on REAL TALENT. Not one hit wonder flukes.
It would also help not to fuck over the artists on your own label. Maybe if the Companies treated their artists with more respect, rather than a cash register, maybe the artists would reciprocate a little respect and support back.

Just for clarification. Youtube has ads showing up in their youtube videos and on the pages. The RIAA gets a cut of the ads from the youtube videos that their artist put up.
We just aren't admitting to it anymore.

So the number of teenagers went down...
Not only teenagers have computers with internet. They are just too stupid to prevent themselves from downloading viruses instead of the music they want.

Correction to the article: Limewire has seen a decrease in sharing. Torrents, however, are only getting bigger and better.
I don't know about you guys, but just get an HD radio and rip it to an MP3...Bertster7 wrote:
