Helps the attenuator arm from having to move so much when fetching files, so yeah, it can help speed things up and prolong the hard drive's life. But it's hardly noticeable on most systems.DoctaStrangelove wrote:

It is indeed noticeable in real world use. I just defragged my system since I formatted a few months back, and it was actually really sluggish just opening some of the folders on my desktop etc..
After using this little program, things are definitely faster and everything loads up better.
Diskeeper is also a good program

vista does more than XP but it is poorly optimized.. especially where i work where vista is total shit.
I tried Defraggler (same guys who make CrapCleaner) and it works very well also.
