It just didn't catch on a chuy decided the forums were not as good as they are here, and the forums are what we use most on the site, not tracking stats.

If Trackr had just been the new site and that was the end of it, we would all be jus fine and nOobs wouldn't know the difference.

Hearing from Chuy is like finding a dollar on the ground. Once you find it, you think its awesome. Then you remember that its just a dollar, whereas if you actually had a job, you would be making more. bf2s has a 'homely' feel to it. When I get home I just like the feeling of going over the past day's posts and doing whatever.

Plus most of us who were once 13 year old kids in 2005 are now growing up, with lesser and lesser amounts of time for internets games, and spending more and more on homework... at least thats what we should be doing. lol. And those who were late teens or whatever now have fulltime employment, studying or working, and whatnot.

This said, I think Trackr was looking for an audience that wasnt there.

Trackr was a great idea. Personally, the reason I stopped going was simply a lack of activity on the forums.

My idea:
1)Reshuffle the BF2S forums to be be more of a general gaming forum.
2)Erase the trackr forums.
3)Move the BF2S forums to whatever server trackr is on.
4)Redirect bf2s.com to trackr.com.

The look and feel of BF2S stays the same, existing users don't lose posts/karma/avatars/etc, and the existing community suddenly appeals to a wider audience.

Thats pretty much it. After spending months and months on it, and people arriving and basically slating the forums (which, quite frankly, are no-where near good enough), he pretty much gave up and looked at other software. He came to realise that Drupal just couldn't do everything he wanted it to do, and with the forums being the most important thing (a somewhat late realisation on his part, unfortunatly ), which having little flexibility, eventually pushed it out.

@ Warman; Officially, we should have been on "Trackr" and not "BF2s" for almost year now, going by the original deadlines, yet we are still here and Trackr hasn't had any work done to it in that time. I think that that fact alone, coupled with the "fall-out" over Drupal...its plainly obvious we wont be moving there in its current state and ditching BF2s.

Trackr WASNT and still ISNT ready - I was the only one who didnt want it to open up to that first 1000 people in the first place. In fact, the poll even shows that Warman himself didnt want it to open

I didn't want it to open to the public so soon, but the majority thought that it was time to open. Look what happened? Trackr is now a ghosttown and only Cougar and a few members keep it active, althought it isn't that active to be honest. Now if we close bf2s now, Trackr will be the only option left for us to post and then it won't be such a graveyard. Improvements can be done later plus chuy will only have 1 site to work on now instead of 2 which makes it easier.

Starting a new one wouldn't be hard.
