Scott Peterson's Family Seeks Donations. Wut?!!  http://scottpetersonappeal.org/

(July 16) - The family of Scott Peterson, one of America's most notorious death row inmates, is asking for your help.
Peterson was convicted in 2004 of murdering his pregnant wife Laci and their unborn son. He is locked up in San Quentin State Prison while his case is automatically appealed to the California Supreme Court.

Scott Peterson spends about 19 hours a day in a 4-by-9-foot cell on San Quentin prison's death row. He was sentenced to death by lethal injection in March 2005 for the murders of his wife, Laci, and their unborn son, Conner. His family is seeking $95,000 in donations to help fund his appeal.

Although the state covers part of the cost of the appeal, a Web site run by the Peterson family said they need another $95,000 to conduct an investigation aimed at winning a new trial.

"We have been very blessed in that our parents have been able to pay for Scott's defense and appellate attorneys for the past 6 years. But the reality of today is that they have exhausted their resources," said a statement from "The Peterson Family Children" on scottpetersonappeal.org.
The site urges supporters to donate between $5 and $50 apiece, adding that "Many hands make light work."

Peterson himself wrote a blog post on the site last month expressing concern about delays in the investigation.

"I know that we can show my innocence again. I hope to do it before much time goes by," he declared.

San Quentin inmates are not allowed access to the Internet, but Peterson can send letters to his relatives who can post his messages online.
Peterson is also allowed to spend 5 hours a day exercising and playing cards with other prisoners, according to a recent profile in People. But most of his day is spent in a 4-by-9-foot cell. The magazine reported that there is only one photo on the wall. It shows Scott and Laci Peterson together, smiling.

There was no physical evidence, just a bunch of circumstantial. I don't care either way and have my own problems, 99 of them to be exact. But good luck to him.

Well I dunno I mean what if he is innocent. I can't see how unless he and they truly thought that he's innocent would they go through all of this.

Utterly shameless to murder your pregnant wife in cold blood to live a new life with your mistress, then get caught on a golf course 20 miles from the border of Mexico with tens of thousands of dollars in your pockets and dyed hair- then appeal to your family to seek donations for an appeal.

I don't agree with the death penalty, but here's one way I avoid 'Tha Row' - I don't kill people.

He's not innocent, there was more than just circumstantial evidence.  Guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt.  I wonder how Laci's family feels about this.  I'm sure they love the fact that he has Laci's picture on his cell wall.

There must have been some pretty serious evidence for him to be convicted.    I don't really know enough about it but my first reaction is to let the fucker die a slow and painful death.

I don't remember them having any evidence that directly linked him to the murder other then "well this guy is weird". Being that he was on a golf course when they "caugh" him and not on the border trying to hop over a fence next to Pablo and Jose makes me really wonder if he was trying to escape. Beside that he made trips to Mexico on a daily basis, nothing new.

I think they found tire tracks from his car near the place where she was thrown in the Pacific.  And the tent he had was used to wrap her body if I remember correctly.  There was plenty of evidence, his mistress Amber Frey's testimony, etc.  He was guilty.

No No No.

First off. Her body washed up somewhere it wasn't wrapped in any tent. Second there were no tire marks because said body washed up. The only bit of forensic evidence was single strand of her hair found in 'his' boat.

The testinomy of his mistress is irrelevant, you will tell a woman anything to sleep with her. Saying things like "We're going to be together" and such doesn't make you a murder. The guy was conivted mainly because he was "fishy".

There was NO evidence proving he killed her. Sure a body showed up but they couldn't figure out when he did it, how etc. He got convicted on "well he dyed his hair and was playing golf".

If you are going to execute someone have some real supporting evidence like a murder weapon, prints, tire tracks, DNA. Don't fucking kill someone because he was "strange"

Lets see... my hard earned money... taxed by our lovely dictator, comes out between 50 minutes and 6 hours of work.

To be donated.

To a murderer.

To appeal his case.

So he can be set free.

I'll pass.

Only in America could you sentence someone to death on circumstantial evidence alone. (I actually don't know anything about this case, but murder is hard to prove, and manslaughter certainly doesn't carry with it a death sentence)

It's beyond all reasonable doubt my friend and there was certainly some doubt in the trial.
