So, I have this laptop, and I want to host a dedicated BF2 server on it. NOT a local server, but one that shows up in BF2's ingame server browser. I've installed the dedicated server program and set it up, but then it goes wrong:

Under "server ip" and "interface ip", if I enter my actual IP adress the server won't start. It doesn't say anything useful either.
If I enter my local IP adress (192.168.etc) the server starts but only shows up as a local server even if I check "internet" in the hosting program

so eh.. help?

Have you port forwarded? That's always a good place to start.

Also I'm pretty sure there's a setting in the preferences file about actually putting the server online and not just local.

I think you need to put your global ip in interface/server IP
