I still kinda prefer the old style G5 though.

I'd recommend the g5 over the mx518 just for the amazingly comfortable rubber texture on the g5.

I see two buttons on the middle of the G5, where the MX5128 has three.

Also, scroll wheel buttony thingy doesn't count.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

you said it, scroll wheel thingy doesn't count. G5 doesn't have the scroll buttons at all. The buttons in middle are for sensitivity adjsutment.

Am I not correct in this statement:

MX518 has two thumb-buttons, clickable scroll wheel, sensitivity adjustment buttons, and one extra button in the middle.
G5 has two thumb-buttons, clickable scroll wheel with tilt function, and two sensitivity adjustment buttons?

I c. but whats the point in that extra button? I got my G5 for same price as MX518.

The base of G5 is much better than the MX518

That's the old rev MX518. The current generation has the same kind of feet as the G5. Also 1800DPI max.

By default I thought it was a profile change. Either way, it's just another button that can be used for whatever.

Now it's the time. For mouse I am pretty sure it's Razer DeathAdder but the monitor is still confusing me. I have kinda narrowed it down to three choices:
P2350
P2370
2333SW

Ideas?

Logitech G9 for sure! Honestly DU, best mouse i've ever used. Massive DPi range and reeks of build quality.

If you want a good mouse on the cheap, look into the Wolf King Trooper. You can get them all day long in the USA, not sure about Europe, though. Give it a look.

I have heard bad about thje shape and build of the G9 besides it is pretty expensive for a mouse.

G5 does not fit me because of the curved left side. Same would go for the Wolfking trooper. I need to have my thumb against the mouse mat.

The shape is fine, yes the stock grip is on the large side but once you swap that out for the smaller grip it's fine, unless you have little girl hands

I guess it is on the upper side of the mouse price range and to be fair, the only reason i have a G9 is due to my Habu going wrong (1 week before warranty expiration) and my friend at PC World helping me out big time. He took the wanky buttoned Habu back and I had to pay £10 to upgrade. Antonia would never let me spend £60 on a mouse now, so if my friend hadn't been so helpful i wouldn't have a G9. But now i do have a G9, in retrospec i would have bought it and just not told her the price! I'm really am that impressed by it.

But on another note, whatever you do, whatever mouse you buy, use an eXact mat by Razer.

IT'S GOT TCO 5.0 NOOB!

Not to mention it's slightly brighter and also a bigger frame if that kind of thing floats your boat, it also looks nicer.
