BF2S Forums How do you change the Appearance of your name !!!

the changing name size is stupid, like some1 needs extra attention or something?

you have to put some tags in th thing before your name (an option available somewhere in the menus)

but it just shows that u are a n00b (well, the text size, not necesarily the colour).

also - i dont think it goes down too well with EA... but not sure about that one

You know what they say, big name, small.......

Youre gonna get a good list of kicks and bans. Some servrers will ban you on site for that crap. {as they should}

Hmm,I don't really see the exploit in it...

Let the guys have their big and orange nametags,as long as they play fair and don't use mapglitches or other nasty bugy which really affect the gameplay.

EDIT: After a little google search on the subject I can only say that these BF2-pimpers only wanna improve the game and there are only a few black sheep who use the name bug for having a big and orange name.

The real potential in the localization codes is that when you change the code properly you can see what weapon teamkills you(e.g. Noobtuber[Teamkills - M203]Tankwhore) or you can get additional information on your kills or teamdamage(e.g. You killed Tankwhore[+2] or Team Damage[-2] )

All in all a very useful optimization of the original color-coding and instead of condemning it into a cheat(What's the unfair advantage here anyway?) EA and the community should support this great idea of colorcoding and implement it in a new patch....just my 2 cents...

The orange name does not appear over the head of an enemy or foe, I've played with plenty of people with orange and big names and they either appear red or blue. They do not have an orange or big name when you look at them in the battlefield, the only place it appears is in the top left.

Besides most of the time you should be able to indentify a soldier by his appearance. This red/blue tag bug is annoying mainly because your own team mates stare at you and then shoot you because they don't understand.

why do hate the red tag bug? exact because you don't know for a second if the guy in front of you is friend or foe.
so people with orange names have a small advantage because you don't see in just that if it is an enemy. and it takes just a split second to kill someone or at least have less extra body openings so you kill and the other one dies

What about big blue names

And, fact is most servers will kick/ban you for playing with orange/large names. It is quite simply annoying to try and read the kill messages when gigantic orange names keep popping up on the screen.

It's not illigal as such, but it is a kind of hack, i.e: Punkbuster sees modified material and kicks, (sometimes.) Also, a lot of people who do actually hack get modified names with their downloaded hack-packs.

Changing your name isn't an in-game feature, so it is an 'illigal' modification. I wouldn't support it because it's annoying to both sides who don't kow what team you're on, and basicly just get pissed off at you for being an attention-seeking arsehole.

The other day on Kubra Dam I got this glitch. I was MEC, and up near construction site. There was a guy that had a USMC uniform on, with a red tag over his head, so I shot him. When he died, he screamed "MEDIC!" instead of whatever the MEC would scream. It then said I was punished for a teamkill.. so, you cannot identify them by their uniform as it appears to be of the other team.

it is. PB has asked all ranked servers to remove players until they remove it.
it was patched out in 1.03 the |ccc code, this is the same thing.
the localisation files have been changed.
EA doesnt like this
