They are pests. This same thing comes up for the kangaroo culls we have every couple of years.

It is far more humane to kill them before the population explodes, they wipe out other species, destroy the native flora and fauna and then slowly starve themselves to death in an extremely painful way.

And the camel population in Australia is so strong that our Camel farmers actually export them to Saudi Arabia because after 100 years roaming our country they are more robust than the Middle East variants. lol
Hmm do you guys sell and export kangaroos by any chance? I'd love to have one as a pet.

You can train them to box (dead serious on that one, look it up).

The only thing about it is it seems strange not to clean up all the corpses...

Otherwise, expecting the government to round them up and ship them off is stupid, trapping, storing and transporting that many large animals just isnt feasible.

Kinda what I was thinking... but after a day or two if they aren't taken no animal is going after a rotting corpse...

And there are a lot of animals that won't eat it if it didnt kill it IIRC.

Lol, and there is an export market for kangaroo meat. In 2003-2004, the government set quota was around 6 million kangaroos - approximately 11-12% of the kangaroo population. Mmm.. kangaroo tastes pretty good, tbh.

So yeah, I don't really care if they are culled.

Kangaroo's are a native Australian animal, we don't export them. But we export the meat.

To true. Besides, I hate kangaroo's. At the Zoo one time when I was a teenager, we were visiting the area where you can go in and pat some of the tame animals. I happen to go into the Kangaroo area on a bad day I guess because after around 5 minutes a Kangaroo came up and kicked me straight in the chest. I was carried out by staff and looked after until I could breathe again.

A "full on" kick from a big roo will knock you down with ease. It can knock the wind out of you effortlessly. Additionally, it can crack or break your ribs, and it is possbile for it to cause some internal injuries as well. A roo can rock back on its tail and slam both feet into you and send you accross a lawn or roadway. Don't mess with these guys in the wild. It isn't worth it.
The one that kicked me rocked back on it's tail but before I could get out the way, *BAM*! All I remember was hitting the ground a good few metres away from where I was standing completley out of breathe and in a lot of pain, then getting dragged out by Zoo staff. To this day one of the most painful experiences I've had.

Even if we slay heaps of them , there will be heaps left for meat and exporting. A cull is definitely needed. They are feral after all.

Exactly, we don't actually give a fuck about the camels, but foreign media wants to make a big deal out of this. I saw it on breakfast TV a couple of days ago and the first thought that went through my head was "Can the media get any more retarded?".
