Just installed vanilla bf2 on new rig, i believe we are on 1.5.3 now ? Do i need to install 1.4.1 then 1.5.1 etc or can i just install 1.5.3 ?

manually updated PB as usual
joined, got kicked for not running bf2 as admin.
Rejoined to find all my unlocks were gone and my rank reset.
Then got kicked for this :
PB Server Requires (A1392 C2.181)...
No idea how to fix it, everyone just says to fix it manually update PB, which I have already done.

Download for Windows all games.. Download to desktop. It's a RAR file so make sure you have downloaded RAR/ZIP from www.filehippo.com first. Extract all the files into C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\pb
Then run the pbsetup.exe and THEN follow the instructions from Evenbalance website.
This cures 99.9% of all punkbuster problems.
Roaringfin, punkbuster is poor but it does keep telling us in game who it's blocked on our server. About 15 a night I counted once. I'd guess that if they had more funds they could do better. But they rely on donations. BBUK donates regular to them.

Ive done everything suggested and get the same error in both vanilla bf2 and none ranked AIX2.0 games.

Have a look around Evenbalances website.
That link that you think is broken is running a script looking for punkbuster hijacks for it's software so be patient as it will then display a security box to enter a number in to download the software. There was an update for all yesterday so it may have been busy.
