been waiting on these for awhile, almost got a 4890 or 275 so many times..... If the price isn't worth the performance with these, I still might.

going to hold off till second gen DX11 since i just got a 4870

I agree, DX10 wasn't a bad API, Vista just sucked donkey dick when it came out; then PC gaming started to decline. So I think DX10 never really came to fruition, imagine if developers were getting millions to develop new PC games and they could really get cracking with that code. Anyways, prolly gonna wait for an Nvidia option next year...

I, for one, am happy with my 295. I'll probably keep it until a game comes out that really utilizes DX11.

This is huge efficiency upgrade to DX API, where as DX10 always ran pretty poorly, this is focusing more to performance.
Better multi-GPU scaling, better CPU core utilization, better looking and overall seems to be more tweaked than DX10 was.

Is it me or these days there's no so much of a big increase in performance as the new cards are released. There used to be big jumps back in the day. And also when it comes to PC games, graphics haven't really gone anywhere in the past few years. There still hasn't been anything that's the new Crysis in terms of the next big thing for graphics.
I dunno, PC Gaming and the technology itself seems to be in a big rut at the moment.

Just wait for these... NV is talking about 2-2.5x performance compared to old gen and ATi can't be much off that. The mainstream 100USD HD5 card supposedly is close to HD 4890 in terms of performance.Mekstizzle wrote:
