BF2 vanilla, SF, AF, and EF all work fine on Windows 7 Ultimate.  I have found no compatibility problems or problems patching.  The only issue I'm having it that my joystick doesn't work now.  I have up to date drivers, etc.  Other games recognize it still, but once i load BF2, the joystick disconnects from windows.

Windows 7 doesn't give all the freedoms that XP had.  It will only recognize a generic force feedback driver instead of the driver i'm intentionally trying to install for the joystick.  It keeps telling me that my current driver is good enough.  Windows 7 doesnt let you force a driver install, you have to use the one they suggest.  Disabling it and manually adding the device with the correct driver only works for a split second.  It keeps rolling the driver over to the generic windows one.

Also, after installing BF2, somehow all the single player modes include a 64 man map.  It never used to.  That was something you had to manually crack.

Installed Win7 a couple of days ago on a new machine, I had to fiddle with punkbuster to get BF2 going, this sorted it out though:

The hardest part was getting my motherboard drivers (DK 790FXB M3H5) to work - the installer wouldn't work even in compatibility mode, and there are currently no drivers for that motherboard listed on the manufacturers website.  Luckily there was a list of the correct vista drivers for the sound, chipset etc on the CD, so I installed them manually (they all had individual .EXE installers which could be run after using the compatability troubleshooter).  Vista drivers seem to work fine, sort of like how 2K/NT drivers would work in XP.

Oh, and I'm using the 32-bit ver, grabbed the wrong one by mistake.
