I'm about to go back to school for my Senior year tomorrow and everyone tells me how great Senior year is supposed to be.

Is there any truth to that because the past two years of high school REEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAALLLYY sucked:

Obsessed over this girl for all of that time and she's probably not even interested.  Got heartbroken regardless because I was already so attached

Got picked on for it from some "friends" in my class(including her ex) and criticized for generally not knowing what to do with girls.

Got my fuckin iPod Touch stolen by this kid that pretended to be my friend and never got repaid for it

Got locked out of my own computer for bad grades(which my parents don't do anymore)

What is so great about Senior year?

I'm going into grade 12, I guess the only thing great about it is that it's our last year of school. Finally.

Yeah, but I can't see that alone making it so great

I'm goin to community college for like two years before I go to real college

Still, going to school on your own time will be awesome if nothing else cause I've heard girls aren't that much easier to get in community college

I think they would be easier to get, low standards, exceptions and all.

Well, my cousin told me when I asked him if girls are easier to get in college, he said not so much in community college but in regular college.  Then again he, like most people I know, didn't seem to have trouble with girls to begin with so it's probably not valid advice to me.

He was a football player in HS and a musician in college so he was pretty much covered no matter what.  I'm just some creepy lookin white dude with awesome computer skills.

My senior year sucked camel dick. AP classes and no early release... Now that I'm thinking about it, what a waste of my time.

It's what you make of it.

I took 4 IB (read: harder than AP) classes, 1 class of golf (which is 2 classes, really), and 2 off periods. Our school had 4 periods every other day, so I'd come in at 10:15 every other day, and the other day I had student aide with one of the teachers I knew real well so it was practically off. Athletics every day.

I had a great time with my friends. Took the hottest girl in the school to homecoming, took whoever i could find for prom (http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=124514), went out to nearly every social event just because. I played baseball for the 3 years prior, but hated the coach so I switched to golf. I was pretty terrible but that didn't really stop me. I got accepted into college november of my senior year, so it was easy cruising for the most part.

Don't try too hard to make it awesome, it will come on it's own. But the big thing is - you have to go out and be there. Your senior year isn't going to be awesome if everyone's out at the HS football game and you're at home on BF2s.

Before senior year I had a handful of friends and had no experience with girls.

By the end of it I had some more friends (and good ones at that), and some light experience with girls (and I've gotten even more experience this summer. I even have a girlfriend, something I would've called impossibly only a few months ago).

What Bevo said. You just gotta get out and do stuff. Get out of your comfort zone a bit more. Think with this in mind: you're probably not gonna see most of these assholes ever again, so who cares what they think? Now obviously you shouldn't start browsing 4chan in class and such, but what I'm saying is don't be afraid to do something you think people will find you weird for. Because 1) you won't see them again and 2) they could find it pretty cool.

Just talk to people. Say hi, ask them how they are, talk about music or movies.

As others have said, you basically rule the school. Don't abuse the power though.. instead use the sort of respect that your rank commands you to your advantage. Also try making friends in the grades below you if you haven't already. The grade I was in didn't have a lot of folks I really clicked with, but the one below me did.

And most importantly, HAVE FUN. It's your last year (semester really) of school. Once you've applied to college there's really no pressure anymore. And since you said you're going to community college for two years, I'll be honest that your high school grades won't count as much as your community college ones will.

I did almost NO work my second semester and it was great. I had so much free time, my grades really didn't suffer (save for math), and I'm still going to college.

High School is a fucking waste of time.

You won't see 90% of the people you know from High School  after you have graduated.

Just man up, and get it over with and start fresh in University or College.

senior year is good i guess because you realize how stupid and pointless high school was and also that you'll never have to see any of those douches and cunts again except for your friends

Senior year is the best.
You will really make a strong bond among your mates.
Our senior year had like two main groups of friends and we all ended up hanging out together and we tried to had class dinners/parties/hangouts almost every weekends. Its good.

I should've tried to do that stuff this year.  It feels like I may have actually had a chance with some of the 09 senior girls.  As for my own grade, I don't have a chance and for the grades under me, it's a case of me being older than them that might be a slight turn on till they figure out I'm nothing special.

And yeah, my cousin said he graduated with like a 2.1 GPA and AACC brought it up to 3.8, I'm going to PGCC so I'm going to shine in more ways than one, LOL

You, being local, know what I'm talking about, Hurri

Holy shit dude, you need to sack up and have some self-worth, you're never going to get anywhere with girls otherwise.

Indeed.

Find a mirror, stare at it until you like what you see. Then tell yourself you're the coolest motherfucker around. Don't get me wrong - don't prance around like you're brad pitt, but keep your head up (literally) and have some pride.

It's only been said 90832749087 times, but confidence. You don't have to be a prettyboy  if you're sure of yourself and have a little bit of social smarts.

Good luck changing from no confidence to being able to pull off total confidence. Find what you are good at and improve on that rather then trying to go for something your not and won't be able to manage.

Done the exact bit myself. Granted it took a couple years, but a complete overhaul. It's not that hard to pick your head up, look straight ahead and be content with who you are.
