its mols totem, so isnt it supposed to only work for her?
But he had been using it as his own. So he knew the exact properties of it too.
It doesn't mean he didn't wake up on the plane, it just means he was still in a dream. The only proof we have that there was any "reality" is his toppling totem, which wasn't actually his.bennisboy wrote:
stupid suggestion is stupid. That would just mean that he didnt really wake up on the plane. It wouldn't mean that throughout the film it would change when he was dreaming or not, because they make it evident. He uses his Totem all the time when he is awake cos he's losing touch with reality, and you see it fall a lot.
The way the end is encourages you to look a lot more for clues, because you don't know if he is asleep or awake.
Errr yeah you do, he tries to spin it and it falls to the floorAussieReaper wrote:

I think it would have been a better movie if in the end you saw the top start spinning again, knowing it was a dream.
So you then have to re-watch and look for clues, guess the point that he is in the dreams and dig for the subplot.

When he spins it in the bathroom he is interrupted, so you don't see it fall or not.
He knocks it over after he is startled.bennisboy wrote:

Saw it today.
10/10.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Still debating whether the end was a dream or not. Personally, I don't think so because the totem looked like it was about to topple over. I'm taking the very basic, simplistic approach to it though. Too late to go too far into it.

I would say Interpretation 1 or 6 are correct. I believe more 6, though, because when Cobb first spins his totem at the end and then sees his children, we can see in the bottom of the screen that the thing goes into a wide circle and almost falls over. Then when it switches back to JUST the totem, we see it just begin to dip. When Cobb spun the totem in Mal's safe while they were in limbo, that thing spun perfectly and never showed any sign of wobble or instability. THAT is why I think Interp #6 is correct.
I saw it a few days ago, it was

I loved the sequence where Arthur was trying to get everyone into the elevator while floating, it was epic.

If it were me, and I were facing eternity in a world of my own creation where I could do anything I wanted, I think I'd find better things to do than create city plans and buildings.

This would've made me a lot more if Caine was spelled correctly, but other than that...

Also, after much reading of critiques, praises, and FAQs/Guides, as well as allowing it time to sink in and fade away, I'm starting to realize just how not-so-great this film is. I knew it was overrated from the start, but I still rated it highly. In fact, there are still some great analogies, and it was definitely a fun ride. I'm just not so sure about what it's trying to communicate to us, or if there's any depth to it at all. Even the Batman movies are better than Inception.mtb0minime wrote:

but "Cobb's dream" wasn't a dream was it? wasn't it limbo?AussieReaper wrote:

Yeah, that was limbo. But Cobb did build it since he was the only person of the group who had been there before.Dauntless wrote:
