I'm just preparing myself for Army training so when I go away for that in early November I'll have fun rather than just being physically exhausted all the time.

I'm also aiming for the "Tough Guy" challenge. It's two loops of a 6K course, except it's not just running - it's a massive obstacle course so you're running through waist high water, mud, climbing nets/walls, crawling under barbed wire, wire crossings etc. Sounds like a blast!

Do you guys have a mandatory period over there in the mili that you must serve like us over here in FIN? Or are you planning on becoming an admiral like Sloppy?

Nah, I'm just joining the NZ Territorials - the part-timers. I shouldn't say joining, I have joined. I am Private Ty, already been to one training thingy. Didn't know that did ya.

It's a good thing to have on your CV and it can be a lot of fun. The only things I don't like about it are the Army-early mornings and the fact that they're going to make me cut my hair and shave.

The Finnish system is good I reckon though.
