I played TC and the tutorial was completely broken and didn't explain anything useful. The game is really hard to get into.
There are basically no tutorials. It's hard as fuck to get into. But if you do, it's worth it.
Reading through my old posts in here, I decided to go try capture another LX.
Almost made it! Lots of hull left too, should be a cheap repair
*claps like a retard* yaaaaaaaaaaaayyy
Cost me over a million to repair the hull from 71%.. Sold the Nova to afford it. Totally worth it. I love this ship :>:>

X is no Freespace. The learning curve is a brick wall, but if you can climb just a little bit of it, the payoff is worth it.coke wrote:
Right, not sure if I'm doing the right thing here but I'll trust your recommendation Finray and try Reunion. One thing though is it as fucking complicated as it looks? Are the tutorials etc. sufficient to get me going?
henno Freespace was and tbh I think if your after something similar this will probably be your best bet.
Now that you mention it, I wish the Descent series would either get a sequel or a reboot. Or at least that Microsoft would get its thumbs out of its ass and produce a Freelancer 2 or Space Simulator 201x.
Apart from the game is there anything else I'll need i.e. add ons mods etc.
Not really. You get a pretty good experience just vanilla.
Bala Gi mission time!

The Yacht!
Got so immersed in it last night, finishing the quest line up to getting the M3+ that only then did I realise it was half ten and I said I'd be at the pub at 8...
Went into a couple Xenon sectors today, took out a good 6-7 capital ships with the Hyperion, netted myself about 20 million in weapons. Sold them, made my space fuel complex in Herron's Nebula. 2 M Wheat farms, 1 L Wheat farm, and 2 L Space Fuel Factories.
Add that to 6 level 25 UT's and my money is shooting up

What is it with the Hyperion. It looks so fucking great when you're in outside view
Then you press F1 to go into cockpit view and..

Needs higher-res textures before that angle looks as cool as a Star Destroyer.
The texture is fucking awful. Full-screen it, RTHKI.
Well, a friend of mine gave me his PC. While it's three years old and a bit faulty, it's good enough for me to play most of my PC games again. I see that Reunion is £10 on Steam, should I get that or Terran Conflict? I've also played X2, so I have some idea of how it works and I know what I'm getting into.
Also, are there any cockpit views like there are in X2? What happened to them?

No more Cockpit view. I suggest getting Terran Conflict. There was a huge patch recently, updating and fixing a lot of things.
Did any of you guys have problems playing TC on Windows 7? The game works perfectly and looks great maxed out, but I'm not getting any music or voices in-game, while I am getting other regular sounds like flying and shooting None of the 'fixes' that I've found after searching have yielded any solutions to my problem.
First X2 handled people and planet textures incorrectly on my old computer and now this

Goes fine for me.
Yeah, just started playing X3:TC. New to the series so whilst the potential awesomeness is immediately apparent (especially as an EveO veteran), I gotta say I currently have no idea what I'm doing.

I gotta try Terran Conflict some time, only played X3 Gold.
I picked up terran conflict as well. Will give it a go over the weekend.
This game is grindy as fuck. 2 hours in and I have 150,000 credits, which is not enough to do anything really.
Also while alt tabbed on auto pilot I think my ship must have rammed something. Come back in with 40% hull and have to spend 25 minutes using the shitty repair laser to fix the ship back up.
Why does everything take so long? I hope the fun stuff starts soon

The game's learning curve is probably the steepest I've ever encountered. Wouldn't be so bad if I had the time to burn to learn everything and get into it.

It´s gonna take you a few more hours. It really kicks off once you got your first factory and you get a steady stream of credits. A booze factory in Herrons Nebula is ace. You can do missions to change things up a bit once you got the financial backup of a factory or complex.Aries_37 wrote:

I powered through the grind like a real man and the game is indeed getting better
Got enough money to buy a decent combat ship (Nova Vanguard) and am now flying around killing and capturing things.
I'm weighing up starting factories and starting up some sector traders. Which will make more money in the long term?
