Ahh, never used them cause of their short range. Gotta try them. I just bnought myself a Boron Barracuda cause I was curious how the Iondisruptors work. They not only seem to vaporize shield in secs, they tend to stop the targets dead in their tracks. I kept a whole Khaak cluster from moving yesterdayFinray wrote:
Alpha PBEs. Fucking awesome guns. I usually have 4xAPBE and 4xAHEPTs, I fire of a few AHEPTs from 2.5 KM, which usually miss, when I'm within 800M (which is the max range of PBEs) their sheilds are gone in seconds. PBEs are amazing against sheilds. Then I blast off their hull with the HEPTs.Sisco10 wrote:

On a slightly related note, I want an Orca. Just for the sheer size of the fucker.

What weapons do you have on that little ship? Sniperrifles
Ion Disrupters were so much better in X2. They're really underpowered in X3. No point in using them now, that they have the same range as the PBEs, take down sheilds slower and can't damage hulls.
Just spent around 16 million on three Space Fuel Distillery Ls, three Wheat Farm Ls and 6 complex hubs. Gonna put it in Company Pride for the Pirate Base, and there's about 5 or so SPP plants, which is just amazing, so I don't have to go far for my E-cells. I might only need one super freighter, and that'll do .
Also here's the complex I made...
Not the prettiest, but it does the job.

Yeah, so, Beta Flak Artillary Arrays can take out an LX in two shots.
Why don't they just rename this thread "Watch Finray talk to himself"?
Do they "autoaim" targets in the vicinity like the ID´s do? I found that very useful especially if a cluster is swarming all around you.Finray wrote:
Sisco; this is how fast 8 APBEs can take out 3 x 125MJ shields.

The ID´s tend to target anything in range though, even friendlies. Cost me my Argon Police license twice already
Yeah, pulling mines is the most fucked up retarded thing ever. They bounce around like you try to push an apple under water with a pencil. Get used to it, cause you gotta move alot of mines later on. If you want to build mega-complexes, one silicon asteroid (even high yield ones) won´t be enough.
And because the moving is so annoying, I cba to place them properly once in range and this fuckes up my beautiful complex structuring. But whatever.
Be careful when pulling mines through asteroid dense sectors. I destroyed one of my mines while moving it through Elena´s Fortune just because it smashed agaist those tiny little rocklings floating around.

They act exactly the same as other lasers, you do the aiming yourself.Sisco10 wrote:

I SETA'd overnight, woke up to 94 million ^^
Bought an Orca, filled it with weapons, that's me down to 60 now lol. Should I get the Argon Trading Station for my own HQ?
I miss my M7
aw <3
God, I hated that time! I flew around with my elephant all the time, using my Eclipse to fight once in range of enemies. Now my Hyperion is ready again and I´m happy!
Flew into a Xenon sector yesterday and killed of a K with it´s fighter escort and the fucker dropped 17(!) Gamma PPC´s, 8 (!) Alpha PPC´s, a few Flak´s and Alpha HEPT´s
Now I´m tempted to sell them, cause one G-PPC averages at around a million Credits! But on the other hand, I´m gonna need them for my first destroyer, so, what to do?
Oh, also found some PBE, but the M7 can´t carry them
By autoaim I meant that they don´t use "projectiles" like the other weapons. You have to aim in the direction of the enemy of course, but the beam "attaches" itself to the target without you aiming directly at the given point, doesn´t it?
So, I reached the 100 million credits line a few days back. What to do with it?
I was thinking of buying my first destroyer ()?
Or building more complexes. I´m still wondering where the really big money´s at. Megacomplexes with 30-40 stations?
There´s still the chance for me to get the auctioned sector if I keep my money together

Good luck with 40 stations, my (I think) 8 station self-sufficient complex brings my FPS to the floor.
I also wrote a little script for the delivery of the required Wares to your HQ ^^

This sounds lame in comparison to the aforementioned exploits of those above, I just finished X3R story twas a piece o piss; have 4 UTs atm and 8.5m now to get a HQ up, make my free ore mine profitable and build a multi station complex not necessarily in that order.
Does anyone have any better strategies for taking down khaak destroyers other then getting up their trumpet and spamming mass drivers? I am limited to using M3's at the moment as funds are tight.

I got my 100mil without SETA´ing over night I got several big complexes now, consisting of 20 and more stations.Finray wrote:

like this one in "Tkr´s Deprivation":

I thought about upgrading it with a Quantum Tubes factory a Rime factory and maybe a Warhead production and there respective food suppliers. Will need to pull some silicon mines together though
FPS are okay still, depends on the system. My Spacefuelcomplex in Seizewell, consisting of around 8 stations, lags more due to the high traffic in that system.
You haxxor are really into that game, he? The script looks nice, but I got no trouble getting all the wares for any ship. I´m producing them myself in systems nearby, hehe. The only difficulty I got was getting Rastar Oil and Teladianium, so I put respective factories in my HQ sector. I hired 2 Commercial Agents to get all the goods and now my HQ has all it needs

@Hooch: Yeah, the story was indeed rather meh. Anyways, to get your HQ up, you´ll need at least 30mill for an Argon Trade Station. Get around 20 UT´s, and build complexes.
As for the Khaak destroyers, it´s pretty much impossible to kill them easy with just an M3. Matter of fact, it´s tough even with a M2. You could spam Hammerhead missiles, but they can´t be bought anywhere, only dropped by pirates, so good luck in finding them.
What you could do instead though are Xenon Invasions. They are (in the beginning at least) easily managable with an M3 and bring you a good amount of credits in short time.
An awesome couple of screenshots:
I cleared out LooManckStrat's Treaty
All this dropped from ONE Xenon K, and I have another 15 x GPPCs sitting in my HQ.
I caught a Kha'ak M3
A good tactic against Ks - Fly on top of them. Litteraly, 20m above them. All the other Ks and Js will shoot at you, being incredibly inaccurate with their PPCs, and hit the K. Easy kill. Just make sure you get the last hit, otherwise you don't get any rep.

But good move on the Khaak bomber. I still havn´t managed to get one. I heard they are only effective in packs though. Your thoughts?
Very good against M4s or M5s, as the weapons insta-hit, but they lack the damage to take down M3s.Sisco10 wrote:

I shot a Hammerhead at a K, only took off about a quarter of his sheild, and that's when he doesn't shoot it down.
62 million later I have a completely self-sufficient complex manufacturing Mass Drivers and Mass Driver Ammunation
o.O
Also, ever heard of AA?

You sure? Cause I use them to kill of the K´s in Xenon Invasions and they are insta-kills. You play vanilla or TC?Finray wrote:

What is the product of that? And how much profit does it make?
