How is the sound in games? Maybe I'm not understanding but I heard that Vista removed support that was crucial for EAX in games that support it. Being that I have an X-Fi Titanium sound card, I don't want to lose that support completely or obviously at all.

And in games that don't use EAX, does it still sound O.K.?

That's my primary(if not only) concern.

Just out of curiousity, does 7 support 16-bit software at all natively? What if I wanted to install an older game that can only use 16-bit, lol?

32bit versions will, 64bit versions won't.

I have the 7600 build x64 Ultimate. I love it. Loads in less than a minute on 150Gb WD Velociraptor. Plays all games fine except it has frozen, resulting in hard reboot numerous of times, playing BF2 & AIX2. Simply changing the theme to Windows 7 Basic, cures that though. Again it's really fast moving through all of my drives, 5 in total. Can multitask all day and the OS never has failed to respond or slow down (except when its CTD in BF2)

This is the only thing I can't figure out. After installing the SmarterFox for FF, it put this file on my desktop. Now that the file has been deleted I cant change any properties , delete, change name, or anything with it. Any advice?
Oh an I love the snipping tool and sticky notes!

Now that windows 7 RC has been taken off the microsoft site, does anybody know where I can find a copy of the 32 bit version to download. Need it for an old laptop. Oh and does anyone know if the cd keys will still work?

Yes. Any large download site *hint* will most likely have the RC build. I got it off there. And yes, the keys still work.

I don´t what it is, but my 7600 ultimate gives me major headaches.
It runs fine for like an hour, but then I get the first bluescreen out of nothing.
After that it just goes downhill, one BS after the other until total fail.
I tried to leave out different drivers for sound, mobo that could conflict,
then I thought it was Daemon tools... nothing helps.
Altogether I tried about 4 fresh installs with multiple combination of drivers and programs
all leads to the same :
Major BSOD fiasco... Meh.

Finally figured out what caused all the problems : The drivers for my 5.1 USB headset.
But leaving them out of the system causes another problem, WIn 7 sees my headset only as a 7.1,
meaning I`m constantly missing 2 sound channel and the sound menu doesn´t let me choose anything else.
Sucks.
The damned headset caused me more bad than good, even with XP.
NEVER again a USB headset !
Any of guys got an idea how I can cheat Win 7 into letting me choose more than one option in the sound menu ?

USB headsets are known to cause issues, never recommended one. No idea how to fix this.

Why only 2.94 GB usable memory ?
Also put some OC on that 6600, I got mine to 3,1 easily without even playing around with the Volts.

At the RAM... nfi.. could be faulty, whenever i try and put more in a get pagefile errors...
