2nd and 3rd are sure as hell not kids movies.ghettoperson wrote:
Same, I know it's Disney so I guess this goes without saying really, but it just struck me as being a bit of a kids movie.Finray wrote:

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
Erm, they're kind of family action flicks. But if I had a little kid, I'd avoid them.War Man wrote:

The first was great but I didn't like the 2nd two at all. I didn't like the second one because it was too similar to the first (going as far as to recycle a bunch of jokes), and I didn't like the third because it went far too far in the other direction and was completely different from the others, and plain weird/stupid.
This one just looks bland. Classic case of more of the same.

when Captain Jack had all those clones, when the ship was in the desert - it reminded me of a peyote trip i took once . . .
no keira knightley. fail.
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
No, win.Brasso wrote:

WTF else could you do with Knightley and Bloom that wasn't already done in the first three movies? Besides, I don't have any complaints about Penélope Cruz.
Shit, you have a point, newbie, but still I'm disappointed. She's really got no role to play in the film story at this point but damn it Cruz is nowhere near as good-looking.

I enjoyed Avatar and Despicable Me in 3D. Although things like Despicable Me don't merit 3D like Avatar does.Backupwayback wrote:

Pirates 4 --- 5/10 and I think thats being very generous .......... I probably gave it that better score due to Cruz and the Hawaii scenery
they just took what worked in the 1st movie and just recycled it straight into the 4th - the returning actors from the previous movies were just going through the motions, they had zero passion in doing the job and was there just for a paycheck - Cruz was OK but nothing remembering about her character - Ian was just basic, nothing to special - the two green horns the clergy dude and mermaid were the only ones trying but they were nothing special
if their were no other pirate movies to go by then we would never see a sequel ..... I understand this is a new director and he has some very large shoes to fill that Gore left behind but it had a very mediocre feel from start to finish

a shame... but predictable. i didn't even bother seeing the third one. the first two were enough (i really liked the first, actually).

while i did see the third, it was the first of the series that has me interested in the fourth.Uzique wrote:

the biggest thing this movie has going for it? the fact that my wife and i can agree 'we kinda want to see it, but no way in hell i'm going to what you want to see'
first was nice, yes, second was basically an extension gone a bit fail.
Never do more than a trilogy
