It could be argued that the killing of the jews was just a continution of nazi peace time ideals and methods. It could also be said that killing them was a better method od dealing with them then providing housing during a large war or realsing them for them to turn hostile and attack later on in the war. I myself would say that killing civilians happens in war all the time whether on purpse or by accident, the nazis were just more organnized and frank about it.
