I don't know much about the new Six-core Core i9 processor from Intel, but I've read that the stock clock speeds on these processors will be below 3.0 GHz. Around 2.4-2.6. Will later models feature higher clock speeds?
What do you neeed 6 cores for? And yeah of course they will, but first they have $999 price. I doubt you can describe a single app which doesn't run fast enough on i7 for home user.

The Core i9 skulltrail motherboards (two CPU sockets) are used in a manner so one Ci9 processor can process applications, while the other processes the throughput of the DX11 cards.
Is i9 going to be yet another new socket?
nope. LGA1366 same as i7 9xx.ghettoperson wrote:

I seem to remember having to flash a p35 to get 45nms to work on it, probably same thing again? Friend of mine point blank refused to let me do it on hisGC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

Very likely. There is really small chance the i9 will need a revision of X58, but that is very very unlikely from what I have heard.Bell wrote:

hmm wouldnt be suprised, x58s coming up for a year old by now surely, since they have now released P55, I dont think people will be too pissed if they did some sort of X58(2)/X68GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

Here you can see Shamino benching with his i9. According to those Cpu-Z screenshots the default speed of at least that early ES version is 133*18=2394.
Yeah, this guy is already unhappy with his C2Q and 4850...I'm still on an E8400 and a 9800GT.jamiet757 wrote:

29.5GHz
The only problem I have with my CPU and GPU are that my GPU gets burning hot, and my CPU will bottleneck the DX11 cards, and I will notice very little or no increase in graphics performance using my current CPU.TopHat01 wrote:

My HD 4850 struggles with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky on 1024x768 all "high" settings, not "maximum" settings. The game play is very sluggish, and I don't get many FPS. The temperatures shoot up to 107-110 degrees Celsius while running that game on those settings. The fan running at 100% speed makes a high-pitch whirring sound like a loud hairdryer. I have difficulty hearing the game because of this. Sometimes I have to use headphones. My CPU temps are normal though. I considered getting a new case with high airflow, or perhaps installing an aftermarket VGA cooler, but this would void the warranty.
Crysis on high settings actually runs much better than Clear Sky.

Then its a problem with STALKER. Your CPU is more than capable of driving a DX11 card. Seriously.ISortGlass wrote:

My GPU has not been overclocked in any way. It is running on all it's factory speeds.
I think my most personally anticipated future games are S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, and Diablo 3. I don't think Call of Pripyat will run much better on my PC than Clear Sky did. How do the recommended system requirements of Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat compare? Are they mostly the same?

Why can't you look it up for yourself? Look, we have been trying to help you by telling you that you do not need to go buy a new video card and a new expensive cpu just to play the games you want to play, but you are unwilling to listen to us, and keep telling us that you won't be able to use a better video card.
What does AMD have to compete with the Core i9?
^Yeah, he's a troll.
Fuck.
Fuck.
