So I just bought a XFX 9800gt from newegg, on the site it says "minimum 400 watt power supply requirement"... I have a 500 watt.

I get the card today and on the box it says "Minimum 550w or greater power supply".

Not cool. Ha, do I try to use it or what?

I wouldn't use it, you could end up in multiple BSOD:s + I don't know what that would do to the warranty (that, and possible damage to the rest of the rig). If you can get a screenshot of the newegg tech spec-screen and a picture of your gfx-card to prove that they fucked up, you can make a complaint/claim about it.

I don't know what the refund policy is at Newegg, but I don't think bargaining for a near-free 600W+ PSU is out of the question

I need around tree fiddy.

It runs just fine on decent quality 400W. What are your rig specs and PSU model?
