Seems some of the boys over at xDevs have discovered a way to cheat the operating system about the motherboard chipset you have. Upside of this is that you can activate SLI on all multi-gpu boards regardless of the chipset.

I would love to test this. If it works as advertised then it would be incredibly awesome.

Anyone here got the hardware/interest to test this?

You gotta be out of your mind to use that. Even if it "works", this opens whole new can of worms in terms of driver issues.

Shit, i'd give it a try if i had the hardware.

If it doesn't work then you're no worse off then if you hadn't tried it. I realise SLI and multi-gpu systems cause problems with drivers but it's still a pretty interesting idea.

Except you end up with a graphics card you can't use.

Hence the "if i had the hardware".

I'm not suggesting to go out and buy a second gpu straight away to test this but there are people out there (some on this forum) that buy hardware quite frequently who may now be able to use what they have in a new config.

I'm sure this will spread across the net and i'm also sure quite a few people will give it a whirl. So if your a panzy (cwutididthar) you could wait a while and see what people who test it out are saying.

Maybe I'll get around to trying it on my dual 9800GX2 PC. Only box I have with an intel chipset, 2 NV GPUs and windows. The rest all run linux.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. A little late, but I just tried this.

EPIC FAIL. BSOD on boot. Had to remove though safe mode.
