Debate the origin of the Universe..

Been staying in my mind for a few times, always was in my mind.

I think the Big Bang theory is an absurdity, many scientists would agree with the fact that the Universe is one single infinite entity with / or with infinite parallels.

The reasons why I do believe that the Big Bang theory is erroneous are quite simple. The first reason is referring to the big bang itself:

What created the big bang. What created what created the big bang. What created what created what created the big bang. This process repeats itself to infinity. I do believe that we will one day have to realize the the universe is indeed a still and unchanging infinite entity.

Personally, although there are speculations about this and that, I try and avoid this, for the sake that we (humans) will probably never know, and its basically useless trying to argue over something that nobody really knows about.

Firstly, the universe is not infinite. Secondly, there's no reason why the universe has to have parallels.

What you need to remember is the idea of 'creation' is only relevant to our universe. Questioning what created the big bang is a pretty far fetched question as you're assuming it had to start somewhere. Outside of the universe an entirely different level of 'creation' could exist. It simply came into existence because it just did, it doesn't need a reason as creation of objects in our universe does.

Btw, before the big bang, anti matter and matter were just sitting around until a fight kicked off and the shit hit the fan, that's what existed before the big bang by current theory.

EDIT: You also shoot yourself in the foot by using infinity as a concept. If you truly understood what infinity was you'd be able to conclude that there's a chance (It's infinitely small) that our current universe was created by something that acted in the exact same way the big bang is proposed to work.

So I got half way into the first video, and they MASSIVELY fucked up Hubble's Law. Redshift is determined by how quickly a planet is moving away from us, not how far the planet is away from us. Huge, massive, epic difference that a 12 year old should understand.

edit: hahahaha the first and second videos are a fucking joke. They are actually trying to say Hubble Law is wrong, when you hear the exact same effect for sound waves every time a car goes by.

I don't think that has anything to do with religion. I do not think we will ever find out - and I am not religious..

My favourite theory is: The universe will at some point start decreasing in size (at whatever rate) and collapse to some kind of singularity. Instantaneously, there will be a new Big Bang and the universe will start expanding again. This process is repeated, and has been repeated. So we are currently in the nth life of the universe - in an "infinite" series.

I'm not saying it's correct, I just quite like it.

I know, and the Hubble Effect is the light equivalent.

It's just the effect of compression/expansion of waves because of a mobile emitter.

Flecco our universe would start decreasing in size if the universe

a) is not expanding fast enough and

b) there is no matter repulsing "dark matter" or not enough of it.

Eventually gravity will take over in such a situation.

I don't really know enough about it Flecco. Some key things that I roughly-kindof-sort0f know are:

- There has to be a certain ratio between dark energy and dark matter in order for the universe to keep expanding (or something like that)
- Something to do with critical density & gravity

There's an episode of Red Dwarf where the fellas in that travel so far into the future they get past that point of change, and everything goes backwards.

Some parts of it, like when birth and death were discussed, were a little disturbing (like the idea of crawling back into your mother...).
