ok, when i press F8 it comes up with options like safe mode etc. There is an option recovery directories but all that does is takes me to safe mode and thats it.

ALT+F10/CTRL+F10 does the same thing. It takes me to this screen. I have to type something in and am not sure on it

Also, there is a software on the laptop called Acer E-recovery. It has an option to restore to factory default but when i press ok it just restarts the computer and loads vista back up.

If it turns out you can't do anything with the recovery partition just download a Vista ISO. Works just the same with your supplied sticker so it's all legit.

I might try this myself.

That's one wacky spacebar in that pic.

You should see it IRL, it's ugly ass beige on the inside, black on the outside.

I have never gotten that to work, activating with an OEM key on the sticker.
Worked twice for me in the last month. (with the Vista Untouched iso)

i have a Vista CD from my main computer. I'll use the laptop code and see what happens. I'll post an update soon.

Its ugly i'll admit, the black is nice but the beige is not. I only got it for £110 a few weeks ago. Might sell it on eBay soon. They go for £160 on eBay.

ok, i have decided to install vista again on the second partition and will install all the stuff available online to see if that works.

Now, i have 2 30GB partitions with vista on it. I want to format one partition but cannot using computer management because a OS is installed on it. Well i have vista installed on both now.

Can someone recommend a free disk formatter?

sorted it, put the vista CD back in. Did a format of both partitions with it and made it one drive. Installed vista for the third time and jobs done. Got all the stuff working after 3 hours of windows updates. Got everything from the acer site so its complete now
