Oh, and did I happen to mention that those 1000 pages are just one batch of them? There are 5. Guess what the deadline is? Friday.

No way. Also, scan to text would only make things more frustrating, but you're going to hear that proposition at some point from someone who doesn't understand shit over how much everything fucks up in the process and that you have to go through the info regardless, only with a much tighter comb.

I'm at work right now and this one tall black dude came in dressed like Forest Whitaker in the Last King of Scotland and is walking in and out of the mens and womans bathroom while his wife tries to explain his car troubles like she's 6 years old.

Yup, and some of the documents are handwritten as well

Scan to text is just a major pain in the ass. Adobe OCR still fails miserably.

Welcome to the most backward company in Britain.

Do we still use IE6? Yes. Do we have a 400GB hard drive for the entire Civil engineering department in the whole of the UK? Yes. Do we have a Raid set up so when something get deleted accidentally we can recover it? No. Do we get constant emails about reducing the amount of stuff on the hard drive because it's breaking the server? Yes.

Normal office computer?
Intel Pentium 3
205MB of RAM

I haven't seen one single person able to touch type or operate a computer successfully.

I also watch the retards heating up the water for their coffee, but instead of just taking it at 91C, they will watch it go up till 99C and then pour it, I mean, what fucking difference is it going to make?

If you'd work here, you'd rip your ballhair off out of sheer frustration how stone age something can be. Yes, I do handwriting to .xls too. I've ordered people to go on excel courses but they can't use the internet good enough to even get to the emails I've sent them with links to said courses.

I play solitaire.

Nah, I'm in charge of looking after the undertrack crossings and culverts on the Scottish railway line, calculating flood rates and risk assessments for each structure and deciding what should be best done with them in their current situation. You reall don't want to know what state some stuff is in around here....

Bunch of wankers. I rather hate the Northern Line now that it goes via Epping and Chatswood. That tunnel is like 18 minutes of black. Boooorrrrriiiing. And now it takes me like 1.5 hours from when I leave my house to when I walk into uni. The straight line distance is only some 26km

Edit: And seriously, one train every half an hour in non peak times. That's fucking bullshit. And it doesn't get much better in peak, with one every 15 mins at the max. Then lets forget about trying to go out to the city on the weekend. Come 2am there are no trains. So what do we get? One "nightrider" bus every hour. ONE FUCKING BUS. There's some drunken fun right there.

Fuck cityrail.

Nah, people make mistakes when it comes to laying the blame on the railway. We have absolutely nothing to do with the TOCs and FOCs ( Train Operating Companies and Freight Operating Companies ). It's up to them to decide timetables and quality of service, we merely provide the land and track for them to operate on.

See, if that happens here, people just walk out and go home. They don't come back.

I went back in at a fire alarm because I needed to send off a few emails, and my boss just looked at me and asked "What the fuck are you still doing here?".
