http://www.totalbf2.com/ is the best site I know for mods

The mods to watch to me are

EoD.  Eve of Distruction, a vietnam conversion

FH.  Forgotten Hope, a WW2 conversion

Project reality recently released a mini mod for BF2 realism.  Not bad. . . aside of the sniper rifle, which is oddly the least accurate of rifles.

Mods have controlls over the forum.  can edit posts, move posts, delete users some times, and the like.  Admin runs the site, has direct access to the server ect.

I downloaded the desert conflict CTF mod, but its crap. They just modified the maps that already exist, screwed with the vehicle physics like you wouldnt believe and gave each side a capturable flag. It could be good, but right now its a waste of time.

It is kind of fun, but the first time I got into a tank and accelerated to humvee speed in half a second i realized it wasnt the mod for me.

Try there.. haven't been back there in awhile (for some reason when I have mods installed the game won't let me into ranked servers regardless) but it seemed fairly interesting.
