So far, all this is hardly more than a nightmare, meaning so far it's an unconfirmed rumor. I suppose new ranks & requirements will be added t Ubar when they're confirmed which isn't likely to happen before the patch has been released.

looks like some of the top players have already got general but i think GOA(5Star gen.) should be for thre best preforming General like SgtMajMC. But the requirments are way too low i think they should be 1star general 100,000 ,2nd Star general 250,000, 3rd Star general, 350,000, 4th Star general 500,000 and for general all expert like they siad cause it just makes i harder too get. But i like the new ranks it was like DFTFD.

guys... I would wait until the requirements come out. I think the points will be on factor, but the requirements will definatly hold people back. (medal, time in serice and badge requirements will probably give everyone more to work for). I hope they do have some of these extra award requirements to allow the promotion to certain ranks...

Pretty gay if you ask me. I feel bad for anyone with 125k+ points - or anyone with 2nd lt now for that matter. Firstly, the new ranks take no skill besides just having a bunch of points - they should put in that you need to command for a certain amount of time to be anything 2nd lt or above, seeing as those are all - duh - command ranks, not the guys who really go out into the fighting for the most part.

They should also put in combat kit requirements such as they did with Sergeant Major, they should spread the points out a bit - maybe put the highest rank at 300k points. What with the way things are going now, I'm assuming a lot of people will hit the upper echelons and have nothing to do except twiddle their thumbs - EA put these in too late in the game, to appease the younger people, and now it's just too easy to be a high rank. What are they going to do when more and more people near the 200k mark? They can't just invent ranks - it'll get boring then.

I don't know - I'm looking forward to seeing the new ranks, but I'm disappointed in how EA went about it.

i think their going to lower requirements for vehicle badges too make those requirements attainable.

If it was random then it will be near impossible to become commander is your rank is below 50k Imo.

Ya know..... I can rant all day long about how the ranking/point system works here, but then again EA is actually doing their job.

They are making all of us play. If not play even more.

I remember when BF2 first came out and I read the point and rank system, I was like WTF? I will have to quit my job, get a deviorce, and eat breathe and poop this game to get anywhere. Then the patch came out. Now it was real easy to get all the way to Gunnery Sergeant. So, I all saw was Gunnys all over the place because they made too much of a gap after that rank.

Now, they have all the officer ranks and they look mighty appitizing. But I'm telling you this.... LOL, the ranking is still crazy! We would all have to statpad to get anywhere if not play for YEARS.

But, like I said earlier, thats what EA want's and they are actually gonna get it bacause there are a lot of people who will.

Sad, really.

i'm guessing it'll be done the same way it is now. first by rank, then by commander score (at least, thats the word on the street). as a sergeant major, i'm rarely outranked. even if another SM applies, i usually have a better command score anyway. i like the way applying for commander is now...it seems fair.

You have 11k cmd score but will get outranked by a 2nd Lt with say 5k cmd score. Purely because his gp is higher. Ok, people say you have to grind rank to earn commander, that is fair enough. The new rank system blows this all out of proportion.

fine by me. as it is now, i can still be outranked by a 2nd liutenant with almost no command score. theres no difference other than the rankings are now closer together.

actually it's not either. If you look at it it just looks like a star. It may or may not supposed to be a leaf but it's not an exact depiction.
