Is there a way to reduce my music sound while people talk on TS and/or vent?

I know vent can integrate with iTunes, WMP and Winamp but that's just to display what's being played. Is there any way to lower volume of the media player only when someone is speaking?

I'm on Win7, and that seems to be able to do what I want it to:

but it doesn't detect Vent or Teamspeak as a communication program, so how can I make it detect them?

it specifically references telephone calls, so i bet that sound reduction software is based on usage of a modem.  which is completely useless.  but i am just throwing out a guess here... i could be completely wrong.

This.

Or Microsoft's phone app. (Window live call?)

I think it was detecting TF2 at one point, because my music always used to go way down when I started that up, and when I turned it off it was fine. I've just thought how useful this would be recently so I turned it on again. I think it's talking about things like skype etc, why would you use a modem to talk? If you wanted to talk down a phone line you would just plug a phone into it, not a modem.

When I used Skype, it worked.
Maybe it depends on if the software developer implements it?
