Ahmadinejad: Iran's Enemies a 'Mosquito'

https://img213.imageshack.us/img213/8089/090602ahmadinejad.jpg

Fox News wrote:

TEHRAN, Iran —  Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday compared the power of Iran's enemies to a "mosquito," saying Iran now deals with the West over its nuclear activities from a position of power.

The comment from Ahmadinejad came as Iran is negotiating with the West over a U.N.-backed proposal to ship its uranium abroad for further enrichment.

The UN-brokered plan would require Iran to send 1.2 tons of low-enriched uranium — around 70 percent of its stockpile — to Russia in one batch by year's end, for processing to create more refined fuel for a Tehran research reactor.

Iran has indicated that it may agree to send only "part" of its stockpile in several shipments. Should the talks fail to help Iran obtain the fuel from abroad, Iran has threatened to enrich uranium to the higher level needed to power the research reactor itself domestically.

After further enrichment in Russia, France would convert the uranium into fuel rods that would be returned to Iran for use in the reactor in Tehran that produces medical isotopes.

"While enemies have used all their capacities ... the Iranian nation is standing powerfully and they are like a mosquito," a government Web site quoted Ahmadinejad early Sunday as saying.

Morale tbh. Why kill many when you can kill one for 70% of the effect intended?

See, doesn't work, but Americans think it will work on the fuzzy-wuzzies.

Sooooo, you are saying Iran's population thinks they should talk down to the US?

And yes, it would change our attitude.  We would get out the country eraser.

If and when you grow up you'll realise that people who talk down to other people are just making themselves look like jerks, so no need to wet your knickers over it.

And yes, it would change our attitude.  We would get out the country eraser.
And you guys are surprised that threatening to attack a country or assassinate their leaders makes you unpopular with them?
Of course, I forgot, they're just ragheads who are as dumb as the indians in John Wayne films.

Really?  You went there?  I hope you are not serious.

That is an awful lot of interpretation from a single post.  You must me special or something.  I don't remember saying any of those things.

You might want to just look at the rationale you used.  I was merely pointing out the flaw in it.

How should I know?
US doesn't run the ME BTW.

Still its funny, the US went charging into Iraq for WMD which didn't exist, ignoring Iran which had WMD and an active nuclear program.
Now they don't have the credibility to do anything.

So Iraq didn't have WMD, and didn't cooperate with the international community and inspectors, so that wasn't justified.

But Iran does, with an active nuke program, makes threats, and doesn't really cooperate with the international community and inspectors...but taking action there wouldn't be justified, either.

I guess the only action that is justified in Dilbert's world is sitting on your hands until all you can do is wring them in anguish and blame the US for not doing anything.

Maybe your own country would be a better place if you guys didn't feel compelled to police the entire globe on your own ... the British empire crumbled after making the same mistakes the US have and are doing right now ... the US is now in a position were it's previous interventions comes back at ya with interests ... your global quest for democracy has failed utterly ...

Besides he has no intention of acting on any of his threats.

The point, for me anyways, is that the country (Iran) is run by a nut job who wants to destroy the US and Israel.  We continue to ignore his rhetoric and think he isn't serious in his threats.  I will leave Iran out of this.

I find it strange that so many think Iran will use WMD without thinking twice about being annihilated themselves ...

I find it strange you would say that without learning a little more about the religion their leader follows.  Dude is bonkers.

The mosquitoe is a pretty dangerous animal. Actually, it IS the most dangerous animal on the planet. So his comparison fails miserably.

@ jsnipy: Nobody. But it becomes the worlds business when an unstable power decides to play around with Nuclear Power. Sure, technically we shouldn't be doing anything and leaving them to do what they wish, but that's never turned out well in the end and sometimes some monitoring is good.

Who says we're the ones who feel compelled to do it?

Seems that everyone wants us to keep to ourselves, but every time someone needs help, they turn to Uncle Sam with puppy dog eyes. Can't have it both ways.
