So once again I'm sitting up late trying to finish reading everything I need to know for an exam tomorrow morning (in errrr 5 hours lol).

How is it that some people just can't do their studying on time and will always wait until the last possible moment.
I know many people have these troubles, and also many who people don't.
I'm jealous of my friends who can make themselves do their studying on time, and I love the ones that drag me along to the library and make me study. Would thank them, but it seems weird: "hey, thx for dragging me to the library...".

So how do you do your studying? Do you find it easy to work a bit every day and even it all out so that you get it done on time.
Or have you found some way to force yourself into doing it right...

Help me better my life (and pass some more exams )

I try to break it up, usually study for 30 min, take a break for 15 to 30 min, repeat until done. Doesn't work for cram sessions, but I try to avoid those anyways.

Also, taking notes on what I'm studying/reading helps me alot as it keeps me engaged with the material.

Do drugs

I know a guy who's constantly doing drugs, not just tame things like weed, and abuses adderall. He rarely goes to math or English and he's getting As in both of them. The trade-off is everyone thinks of you as a junkie, but hell in the end he's doing way better than a lot of people. Weird shit.

It really helps you sit down and "zone out" on doing work. I haven't smoked much at all for the past year and I have noticed my self getting worse and worse about getting homework done.

i'd be careful using sativa or indicus as a study aid, it impairs short term memory. just ask ig.
mcgid's idea worked for me best, when i was pre-med.

If you don't smoke weed, don't smoke the first time before your midterm when you need to get shit done ;P

But seriously, weed has a way of making you get lost in something. Once your used to smoking/getting high its really not THAT debilitating.... One of the reason so many kids who sit around playing video games all the time smoke so much weed... because they can get lost in the game and ignore everything else.

Not always the best thing for when you have to do a bunch of reading (I find I space out, still on topic... but I stop reading and just go over the topic I stopped at in my head)

However, math/physics/ect... Where you just working problems it really is great for getting lost in your work.

Short answer. Notes. Do notes. Summarise the info in your note books and textbooks, based on the course syllabus. On that, what are you studying for anyway?

And as burnzz said, no. They do not help.

Kinda... but its not like you can never remember anything that has happened. In fact I have never forgot or had a single black out from smoking weed. And everyone I know has said the same thing. Forgotten some stuff, sure but when it was brought up you remember again.

Besides, short term memory is just that. Studying is all long term memory.... Unless your studying 10 seconds before your test and plan to forget everything the second after you write it down.

i can see where you are coming from - it's just that the OP asked about studying. it may work for you, and i think it was helpful after you stated why it helped you.
i just thought, with the original post in mind, there's no way to find a bud five hours before class, hope to get some time in, and be effective.

being effective isn't a known trait of THC either, academically. it does effectively enhance your appetite.

And I'm studying pharmacy, the course is organic chemistry & natural products. A shitload of reactions and information about, well natural medicine and their bio-synthesis. It's interesting, but a bit too much in one go =/

I want to do that, but I'm finding it sooo hard paying attention in class for 4 hours. The first 2 maybe 3 hours I can manage, but then I just lose my concentration and start talking to people. Plus the stuff we're getting just doesnt stick around in your head if you've only seen it once or twice. At least not for me

I suck at studying too. I have an exam this coming Saturday but dispite having plenty of time in the last couple of weeks I haven't really even started studying. I was going to today but instead I went for a run an a swim and fucked around watching "Scrubs". I say I'll do it tomorrow but I probably wont. I just love doing nothng so much.
