mad men is probably my 2nd favourite tv drama but it's not as good as the wire. the setting and stuff is very well done and the production is great, but the wire just has so much more going for it. the characters are more intriguing and entertaining, the plotlines are more dramatic, and the themes are so much more visceral. mad men is a great drama but the premise - in my opinion - is inherently less attractive to watch than the wire's. ad-men and their domestic to's and fro's < baltimore streets.
