We had a map posted some time ago showing where the money was going but it was not updating.
This is interactive and shows the specific contracts awarded in each state/county.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33498869/ns … ll/us/all/

Large parts of the $787 billion federal stimulus package to help the U.S. economy are being spent on entitlement programs such as unemployment benefits and Medicaid, but hundreds of billions will go toward contracts, grants and loans to restore infrastructure. Click on the map and categories below to track that spending down to the county level.
California is still topping the list at $11.2b. No surprise there.

Such a contrast over here. The government is drawing a line in the sand and cut, cut, cutting everywhere. Today the double welfare payment in the run up to Christmas was scrapped saving the nation over €200m. We are currently braced for a wave of public sector strikes in protest at touted pay cuts across the board. Bring it on...

Why is Washington state getting such a heavy stimulus??

They have a big ticket item apparently. They're dismantling a nuclear plant (when they should be building them but that's a different topic).

You've discovered why I am so anti the US Govt spending a dime on anything... 90% of it seems to be waste and graft.

California proved that large-scale direct democracy is a bad thing.
