About the abs thing, I do 4x12 "slow" reps every other night before going to bed, and in the gym there's a machine for doing crunches with weight added, I usually add around 62kgs (I'm only 65kgs myself) and do 4x12 reps.
My abs aren't defined yet, but I'm not sure if it's because of my muscles (or lack of :p) or bodyfat%/diet..

Also, it's safe to say 'lifting' helps you abs too, for example Squats/Deadlifts/.. work your core too (correct me if I'm wrong)
I'll admit, my stomach is my weak spot.  when I was lean they showed pretty nicely though... I tend to neglect them when I train. I dunno, i just cba to train them half the time.  Once I get to 215 (hovering right around 200lbs) now im gonna start leaning back down at which time I will def hit the abs more.

Baggs NEVER let up, lol!  kill it brotha!

I think it's cause apples have 0 fat and 0 protein in them. But will provide calories, carbs and fibre.

Hey guys, someone in my class' dad sells all kinds of supplements/drinks etc. for sportsmen. I asked her if he'd have any supplements in stock for me, and she just called me that he has ' Maximize 100% Whey Pro ' in stock for me (for €25 ish)..

Now my questions are...

1) Is it worth it to get a supplement like this? I'm not looking to get over-the-top muscles or anything.. just a nice toned look
2) Is that a good supplement? Any experiences with it, or what do you gather from looking at the 'specs'...
3) How much should I use?

And 4), more importantly, what flavor? - banana, strawberry, chocolate, vanille, pistache - so many choices!

wouldn't it be better to work out for a few months all natural then if you feel like you need supplements, start from there? since your body knows that you are working out or something

I've been working out pretty 'seriously' since september.. Saw some gains and was wondering if shakes would help me

You guys act like protein shakes are like steroids or summit, lol. Same thing as eating a big steak except more convenient and less cheaper probably.

1. Yes it's worth it.
2. Seems okay.
3. Use a serving size, usually around 25g of protein.
4. Chocolate is usually the best with any whey.

Heh, sorry, probably my bad. I guess I should be considering it as a 'snack'? :p
It's just my initial worriedness, I don't work out that hardcore at all, so if it wouldn't help me get me results I could forget about it

How much do you weigh and how many grams of protein are you getting per day?

I weigh 65kgs (I'm 5'6") .. and I have no idea about my protein intake right now.. I eat normally, 3 meals a day (with snacks inbetween), but I'm guessing that tells you nothing

Probably not getting enough protein, lol so the protein shakes will help quite a bit I'm sure.

Just to be sure, can anyone tell me the downsides of whey shakes, if any?

Some people may disagree with me maybe, but those machines are pretty infective compared to crunches etc.

I really don't know.. It's the same movement as a crunch, just with some weight added.. I do them every time I'm in the gym, and regular crunches at home, combing the best of both

none.. Whey isolates are the cornerstone of any supplement stack. Rule of thumb is to take a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight (this is food + shakes)  Generally I take about two servings a day, one immediately after workout and one early in teb morning.  The thing about whey isolate is its a pure protein that is very quickly absorbed into the body, so taking it on an empty stomach will speed up the digestion even faster.  Your body needs protein the most AFTER your lift, try to take a serving within 30 minutes after your lift.

I was planning on taking it after my workout (I'll still have to figure out how I'll do this.. I go to the gym directly from school, so I have to stuff everything in my school bag)

Fill up your shaker with the needed amount of whey before you leave and just use water from a water bottle or drinking fountain. Whey protein usually comes in a tube thingy so there's no way I would be able to fit it in my school bag.

I'd have a tank on my back lol... I was thinking that.. But what about milk? I have low-fat/skimmed milk at home, so I'm figuring I could use that too? Or is water the better choice

And also, what are the benefits of drinking a shake in the morning?

Sorry for all my questions, I just want to know everything about a product I'm buying lol

Because your body goes all night without food, etc. If you're only having it once a day, do it after your workout. And milk mixes with it fine too. Whatever you prefer.

I see. But I eat breakfast pretty much immediately after I wake up..  I think I'll go with the whey tub, chocolate flavored, and I'll see if I like it
Thanks for all the advice guys
