haha, I kicked a guy off the calf horse last night who was on his cell phone... I was like "dude, Im working in. I dont have time for you to talk on your cell phone..." I lift by myself to prevent distracting conversations. I have a few other hardcore members of my gym I trust for a spot when needed. Also, 1400 posts <3 bf2s

oh haha, wondered why it dindt update.
Bump.
So ladies, how has your training been going? I've had a great week (few weeks) making solid gains. I've really upped my eating and it's paid off. Tweaked my diet to start getting more carbs.. My legs have exploded, tonight I squatted 345 pounds (or 156.4 Kg) three times. I do deep squats, well below parallel. Anyways Irish, Zim, Hakei or whatever, meth, keeping yourselves busy??

Did quite an interesting exercise last night, done some tricep dips, which isn't the most difficult of exercises but I held a 10kg medicine ball between my feet whist i dipped. So i was dipping with an extra 10kg and it also worked my legs due to gripping the ball.
Is obviously easier with a weight belt but great for the legs.

Hey guys - my dad got me some of these
Now I was wondering, are these tools 'really' useful? And if yes, what would be the best exercise to use them with (to build forearm muscle I guess); fast repetitions of squeezes or a fast squeeze and slow release?

I've never used them but they look like a waste of time. Improve wank muscles afaik.Jebus wrote:

Neither. Slow squeeze, slow release. That way you feel exactly what you're tensing and using. They do significantly improve hand grip and strength, but not much more than that.Jebus wrote:

Meh, I guess I'll keep them to use while watching tv I guess lol, better hand strength is handy.. I guess.
Just got home from the gym btw, it's been a while (was closed during holidays -.-) so I had to stick to home exercise..

been going to the gym for 2 months now, put on 1.5 stone, in that time been steadily increasing the weights i expect to hit more of a limit soon i guess.
Keep up the good work man. When you do hit your plateau make sure you up your food intake (protein protein protein!!) It'll help you push through. In the 2 years Ive been training hard I've plateaued probably three times.. it will happen but dont get discouraged.Vilham wrote:

im already eating around 100g protein a day and tons of carbs, really need to buy some protein powder.SonderKommando wrote:

you do and you don't, depends how hardcore you want to take it. But if i'm being advisory, i'd wait a few more months before you hit the powders and shit. get a good shape, get happy with it then move onwards with the more serious stuff.Vilham wrote:

thats my own opinion btw.
Rule of thumb is 1g of protein per pound of body weight per day for building muscle.Vilham wrote:

really i heard it was like 1.5g per kg. If its 1g per pound i need to be eating like 175gs a day, that seems a bit excessive.
Really.
No, Sonder is corect. 1g per pound.Vilham wrote:

definately need to buy some powder then, i already spend £400 a month on food.
er what?Vilham wrote:

I'm suprised there's so much weight difference between your squat and deadlift max. I've never had a deviation of more than 10 kilos between the two throughout the last year of training and my squat has always been slightly better than my deadlift. Are you sure you're doing both correctly?SonderKommando wrote:

Well for one I squat properly. Deep low squats, to about 60 degrees.. Also, these aren't straight leg deads, more of a back thing than legs.Hakei wrote:
