So more than half the value of the car each year...lmao, Ok.CammRobb wrote:
An M3 of that relative value in the UK would still be >£2500 a year for me to insure.
Still that's about 200 a month.. not completely unimaginable.

Yeah. It's laughable here, say you buy a car that costs you £700, half the time in Uk if you're under 21, you'll get quoted in excess of £1500, so basically what they're saying is that you're gonna right off that car twice over.Kmarion wrote:

This is 3rd party only prices too.CammRobb wrote:

Those are aftermarket Rims, BBS I think. The Mitsubishi Evos MR comes with BBS rims and they look like that.
Usually in the case of a young driver, 3rd party is more expensive than fully comp.jord wrote:

That's just stupid.. conservative though I might be you need some insurance regulation. Giving the insurance company the entire value of the car every other year no matter what happens.. . I genuinely feel sorry for you. Hard to believe.jord wrote:

Yeah, then you've got voluntary excess, normally 150, 300, 600, or a 1000 pounds, so if you twat your car, you have to pay for it up to the price of your excess. Insurance sucks. That's the reason there's such a high amount of uninsured drivers.Kmarion wrote:

Well yea.. if the car cost 5k and it cost 2k each year to insure it.. forget about it.CammRobb wrote:

I'm confused you guys are talking about full coverage or just liability?Kmarion wrote:

I only have liability because I get my car parts through my job for free and self install so I don't need repair and don't leave my car anywhere in the middle of the hood where it might get stolen so theft isn't needed.
The US and UK seem to have completely different takes on car insurance from what I'm reading here.
I'm talking about 3rd party. As in I wrote off my car about 6 months ago and got fuck all for the £2500 I pay yearly.
My new car is worth £700, and I pay the same £2500 each year. And that is the cheapest one there is for me, and that's at a fucking nice address.
If I put my home address it would rise to at least £6000 a year.
Insurance companies are the only dickheads that get away with Sexism, dickheadism, poorism and ageism. cunts

Ok that does sound a little ridiculous. i thought I was getting ripped off for $2000 a year for comprehensive cover on my car insured for $13,500. Sucks to be the UK
Petrol is also a lot more expensive here, and I wouldn't be surprised if learning to drive and getting tax is to.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

It's not even an option for most of us over here. It's no wonder your PP is lower than ours.jord wrote:

Yeah but Buses are are just that, a bus, they stop at every Bus stop. Which means if you want to travel any sort of distance it takes AGES. And they smell, and usually have either a drug addict or an Alcoholic on.Kmarion wrote:

Sick ride man.
The other day my buddy hit a raccoon going 55 mph in his M3. So much damage to the front end. Nothing left of the raccoon of course.
I feel bad for the poor car.

Purchasing power. You have higher wages too. However when you calculate things like insanely high driving costs it evens out.jord wrote:
