What the quickest way of doing this? I could google around and force myself to read some articles but its faster to ask you lot.

It's not for me. I always had enough space (currently at 2TB) to store my shit so never bothered learning, i don't buy dvd's etc either. It's for my dickhead mate how incidentally plagues me for mp3's and movies.

I've had a similar quandary recently, the easiest way is to straight burn the avi. to the DVD, that is if your friend has a compatible DVD player...

My friend hasn't so I "acquired" a copy of a program called ConvertXtoDVD 3 (the full version), very simple to use, at it most basic you simply drag the avi. (or whatever format it is) into the program and click convert, only takes about half an hour to convert and burn your average film (which is pretty quick compared to other programs I've tried before) and the quality is pretty dam good.

Once done it'll play on virtually all DVD players and will be set up with menus and chapters and shit just like a proper DVD and depending on the file size you can sometimes fit a couple of films on one DVD. Also if the film comes in two parts you can simply add the first one then right click it, click merge then add the second part and it will merge them together.

ConvertXtoDvd is what I use. It'll convert just about anything and burn it as a dvd.

Unless you download an ISO, in which case it's better to use Nero or something else.

For straight dvd copy though, DVDshrink is great.

Ashampoo burning studio... When I had Nero installed I used Dvd shrink. I have also used Apollo dvd maker with success http://www.createdvd.net/.

There are a bunch out there brah.
