Erm that maths doesn't quite work. It would not take a 125mph train 17 seconds to travel 100m. 17 seconds would be a very slow train.Zimmer wrote:

On the tracks you have to have lookouts (when inspecting them) 100m away from the engineers in both directions because you have 17 seconds before a 125mph train hits you. You don't hear much until you're about 6 feet away from one.
