Seriously...

Also, Windows 7 doesn’t immediately know what to do with some pretty obvious tasks. When you insert a thumb drive, for example, you must tell Windows 7 what to do with it (i.e. open the folder and view the files) and customize a setting to get the OS to automatically behave that way. In short, when getting started you’ll have to do a lot of tweaking and customizing to get moving smoothly. That’s unfortunately an experience all Windows users are accustomed to — things don’t “just work.”
What, do you expect the computer to read your mind, and select what choice out of 7-8 you want to do?

Is this guy fucking retarded?

Hardly anyone ever upgrades their OS anyway. You just get the latest one with a new computer/build automatically. Moreso right now because 7 is by far better than Vista and XP. Whereas before, especially when Vista came out, some people would be like, hang on, I'd rather have XP cos Vista is gay. You'll get none of that shit now with 7.

So the article is kinda pointless really, everyone already knows that upgrading is usually a hassle and pointless, it's been like that for awhile. The only good point it makes in terms of being a stupid Apple vs PC article is that apparently Apple only charge $30 to users who already own the old OS to upgrade to the new one. That's something Windows could borrow.

Oh dear you might have to click a checkbox! This is why some people want Macs... Theyre drooling idiots (no offense to bern <3)

To be fair, the article before it stating 7 reasons to upgrade, was equally bad

Piracy
Yarr! We know there are plenty of you out there downloading pirated digital booty, especially in Windows land. But it’s never been convenient to be a pirate compared with being a paying customer. For example, if you’re a legitimate buyer purchasing movies off iTunes, you can easily stream your media to your legitimately purchased Apple TV. If you’re a pirate, you’d have to go through roundabout programs and hardware to re-create the experience.

Windows 7 is an OS practically made for pirates. Want to display your movies, photos or music on your TV? Bam! Windows Media Player will do that out of the box if you have a Wi-Fi enabled TV, or an Xbox. No extra programs to install: Windows Media Player seamlessly communicates with your Wi-Fi device to display your illegal content in all its glory on your fancy HD TV.

And sharing media is easy, too. Want to download all of your brother’s music? Bam! HomeGroup, an easy networking feature included in Windows 7, will make that super easy between computers running the OS. Immediately upon plugging in to your network with Ethernet or Wi-Fi, HomeGroup will ask if you wish to join the group on the network, allowing you to set up easy file sharing in minutes.

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Actually never toutched NT...Went from 98 (Bad, very bad) to XP....and well, still on it, no problem, and im having a good lol at my mate running both vista and 7. All i hear is that "x dont work" and blah blah. Ill let 7 in the cauldron a little more longer and let him pick up some taste and stuff...then i might consider joining the bandwagon.

Also, are you using 7 atm?

Vista.  Yeah, it sucks but I work on it in a corporate environment so I need to toy with it home from time to time.

XP is completely terrible when compared even to Vista (which doesn't suck, btw Cougar), let alone when you compare it to 7.

"If it isn't broken, don't fix it", it's not being fixed, it's being improved.

Have fun accessing 3.8GB RAM max, and DX9.

That's because they charge 2-3x more than average for hardware that can't be upgraded.
